Would you take this Hyundai Sonata over any other sedan under $40k? There are other sedans that are great and worth mentioning but I’m talking about Camry and Accord strictly because they are top sellers. Obviously this isn't a full comparison with the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, but I touched on a lot of similarities and differences between them all. There's no way to make an apples to apples comparison with them without having all of them at the same time. Hope you enjoyed and let me know what you think!

Yes. However, I currently drive the K5 AWD Gt-line specifically since it's AWD. other than that... I'd get the Sonata.

The Camry can’t even compete in the segment. It’s so uncompetitive, cheap feeling, sloppy driving, power rains are lackluster except the v6, handling is poor, the chassis balance is poor, NVH is poor as well Forget the Camry. I have an accord and it eats any Camry or Lexus ES forever all day.

This car is growing on me. At first the front end was a deal breaker but as I see more of them on the road it's actually a really nice looking car.
@Kirin2022 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, me too. I think acceptance of the front end has been helped by so many models by other respectable brands now also have big mouth grills (e.g., Nissan, Audi, etc.).

My mother has a 2014 Sonata with 160,000 miles on it. It hasn’t had a single issue and she loves it! Everyone told her not to buy a sedan and especially not a Hyundai because they are cheap and it will break down, but opposite happened. I’m considering a Hyundai Sonata now.

I know there's a new for 2024 facelift, but I recently spent a week with a rented Sonata SEL (mid trim level) and I was very impressed with the car. I think it offers a lot of value compared to the more expensive Accord and Camry.

Hey Nolan! I love the Blind spot camera’s built in the cluster. The heads up is nice too. I can’t see anyone really using smart park. Because Hyundai changes designs like underwear this car will look outdated very soon. I liked the design when it came out. The $37K Top Spec just seems a bit much.
@jraheemjefcoat4292 жыл бұрын
$37k may be much...But the top trim Camry and Accord top trim prices is more! You get more for the more money with Hyundai. They have been getting positive ratings so far.
@jraheemjefcoat4292 жыл бұрын
I understand Hyundai's strategy with the whole touch sensitive panel screen. It's modern and techy. It gears to those who appreciate the tech. For those who prefer buttons, its there on lower and mid trims. Even on the lower trims, Hyundai gives you more features for the value..Most of the buyers will buy those trim anyways, instead of the top trim..Hence why they also add wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto on their lower and mid trims with the 8 inch screens. Toyota and Honda don't even have it as standard...Hyundai does..Just not on the high spec out features..Which makes up for it with more tech.. It's a smart marketing strategy... Hopefully, they will add wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto standard across the board.

When it comes to tech at a lower price point for those that care about it while sacrificing mechanical aspect of car then Hyundai and Kia are champions in that department. Im speaking as a toyota owner

Hyundai makes really cheap cars. Good looking and good price but you get what you pay for. I had a nice 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 and it was nothing but problems. Money pit. All the electronics were going out too and I only had 86k miles before I sold it. Someone in a 2015 Hyundai sonata merged into me the other night and his car got absolutely destroyed and my Ford fusion barely suffered a slightly cracked mirror. That's it. Hyundai's are crap

@matty10532 жыл бұрын
The interior blows both of them away. Exterior? it's complicated lol. It's growing on me though. Pros of Camry: AWD available, V6 available, 'reliable'. Cons of Camry: Interior feels dated, power train is OKAY. The 8 speed gets confused, no fog lights Pros of Accord: Power train is great, solid looks, interior is better than camry, available adaptive dampers, fog lights Cons of camry: No AWD available, CVT at lower trim, no heated steering wheel (WTF Honda?) Pros of Sonata: All the smart features available, hands free trunk, interior looks like something you'd see on a 'premium branded' car. Power train is awesome, and very quiet! Cons of Sonata: no available AWD, front end is MEH, no fog lights available All 3 are great cars, and all 3 took down the big 3 in the mid size sedan category. The turbo powertrains are amazing, and having AWD on a sedan is a huge plus. However, Hyundai is really the underdog here.
@competitiveautomotive54572 жыл бұрын
The pros of the Camry are reliability and the smooth v6 Cons: cheap everywhere. But the biggest issue is that the Honda accord and Hyundai Sonata and Kia k5 exist

I would buy a hybrid version of Sonata. Cheaper than Toyota or Honda.
@chuckfan12 жыл бұрын
It's cheaper for a reason Toyotas and Hondas can go forever, dont depreciate as fast as a Hyundai. And are more mechanically reliable Yeah, maybe a little more techy in the Sonata, but, will break down quicker. Check out Scotty Kilmer videos, and why he says never buy a Hyundai..
@Jovancostaa2 жыл бұрын
Bro the new sonatas are fairly new. Only time will tell. New Hondas aren’t as reliable as they were before. Don’t get me started with Hondas cvt and how they still use that shit
@chuckfan12 жыл бұрын
@@Jovancostaa Thats why I got the new Accord Touring, 2.0 Turbo. No CVT. Again, search on KZbin, Scotty Kilmer and Hyundai.. And also his video on which Honda engine is better, the 1.5 or 2.0 Toyotas and Hondas can go forever, if you take care of them, its been proven. Even the Hondas with CVT, are done right. Better than a Nissan CVT. Yeah, some Sonata can go forever, but OVERALL, Hyundai not as reliable as Toyota and Honda. I almost got the Sonata Limited, but wanted that Honda reliabitliy.
