Gorgeous aquascape, the only thing missing is a group of snakeskin gouramis🤔.

Do you have any fern or bushy epifite plants you would recommend that I could put in my black water/botanical style aquarium?

Java Fern types?

Black water tanks interest me, but not to thr point of wanting to set one up. I have very hard water so the tannins would help soften it and therefore I'd be able to keep a wider range of fish...I think. Is there indeed a larger number of fish that prefer soft water vs hard?

I think there are more options, but hard water options are pretty cool too!

Roibos tee is something you can get from the supermarket and it’s fish safe and helps to lower ph. It also smells great. Oak leaves, maple leaves and other carniferis tree leaves can also be added to aquariums.

@crd.3370 yeah true, but once you start manipulating the ph you have to keep it up, etc. I just got 4 wild caught orange Venezuelan corys today. Since they come from soft acidic water, I took extra time acclimating them. They went in my 55g to join my 2 sterbai, 2 fairy and 2 paleatus corys. Just waiting on gold lasers to finish my cory collection....unless...uh...I could....der...get a bigger tank
