I mean the difference though is Aquaman has the same powers but also has the super strength, durability, is basically bulletproof, has super hearing/sonar, even when on land, and then his marine telepathy itself is way way stronger than The Deep's, being able to affect not only sea creatures but also sea birds, and even humans at times. He also had a limited form of telekenisis. The fact is Aquaman just has a much much better and more varied power set than just the marine telepathy. while The Deep has like minor increased physical capabilities, no more than every other Supe has and can speak Spanish.
