Just got this for Christmas, its awesome! The transformation is easy enough, however there's a lot of snapping parts together and it's softer plastic, so it's more like wedging than snapping. Also splitting the iron diaper to extend the legs out is a literal pain, you need a tool to pry it open. If you try to force it, you risk breaking your figure. But once you get it transformed. Of God is it awesome!

I'm pretty late, but a few things regarding the transformation: I find that when you separate the torso from the waist, it's helpful to pull FORWARD (along an imaginary arrow sticking out of his belly) and up, which causes a few tabs to slide out and lets it separate easier. Second, for splitting the "crotch" (ow) I actually used hobby nippers to clip off one of the tabs that holds it together. Trading a miniscule bit of stability for a massively reduced chance of tearing the legs off is worthwhile in my opinion.

I'm a child of G1, have never seen Beast Wars - but when I saw this guy at Target I just HAD to have it!! The waist separation was a nightmare going from robot to T-Rex, I really thought I was going to rip the whole thing in half. Hopefully it gets easier as I practice. I think it looks amazing in both modes, one of the cooler figures I've picked up recently for sure. Thanks for your great videos!

Your video was incredibly helpful and actually allowed me to finally transform him from robot to T-Rex (despite the instruction booklet, I was basically stuck/stymied on step 9). I’ve only recently gotten back into Transformers (but having been “on the fence” for a few months) and I’ve purchased a few of the toys/ characters in the last few days. I’m excited to see what other characters they reintroduce into the line. You have earned yourself a new fan, and subscriber!

I just bought the figure today, and straight out of the box, the outer skin layering on the tail was already bent at the corners and no amount of tweaking actually helped. Besides that and an extremely tight knee joint on the right leg, overall it is an extremely well design figure and for sure, this one has definitely earned its place in my display

My only two problems with the figure are the positioning of the right arms elbow joints. I feel like the head should be facing a different direction when he bends his elbow up and down. And that you can’t take the tail off of the left arm. Other than that this is an amazing figure!

Regarding the rubbery PVC, it feels a lot like what they use on newer car interiors, like the dash. if so, it should be pretty resistant to temperatures and not degrade.

If you do damage the rubber part of Megatron's body early on try hitting it with a quick blast of hot air. Very quick and I wouldn't recommend doing it often... but it will cause the rubber to get soft and return to normal position with no stress marks.

Great review. I'd love to see how tall he is compared to a TR leader class. I'm sure his mass more than makes up for any height difference, but it's still a comparison I'd like to see.

Thanks for the transformation help! I was stuck halfway and would have never figured out the pulling apart of the crotch and pulling upwards of the torso. Unfortunately, I broke a small n insignificant piece while trying to tab the back onto the body but definitely One of the most complex transformations I’ve encountered. But with such great engineering, it’s to be expected as this figure did not seem as a cut n dry piece. I love the robot mode! Hasbro has really impressed me with this one. 10/10. The chest sculpt in robot mode is truly remarkable! This piece will look great with Predaking!

Nice, Rattrap can fit between his Legs when standing up, just like in that one episode when he just walked underneath Megatron between his Legs :D. The yellow belly is carried over back from the original toy from 1996, in the show it was darker and more a of a orange strip on the bottom. Masterpiece figure and anniversary reissue have that.

just finished rewatching BW last night. This Megatron was awesome and balls out insane by the end of the series too. The whole Covenant of Primus thing they did in the last episode was kind of strange though. Feels like they did that just to quote Pulp Fiction. Not that I'm complaining, the idea of Megatron and Optimus being holy warriors on opposite sides was something unique at least. (If you don't know what I'm talking about watch the series finale of BW, Nemesis pt2)

Fans need to understand that the Beast War (not G1) figures are updates to the original toys NOT mini Masterpiece figures. Only Blackarachnia and Dinobot come halfway close to being mini Masterpiece toys. The G1 figures are mini Masterpiece figures though.

The waist part can be easily untabbed without a lot of force by slide it out first. Just stick your finger in the cavity behind the head push the torso outward. It will easily come undone then.

I recently started collecting the WfC line (maybe a lil too late, as some figures I want are scalped to hell). Started the collection with this figure and I love it! But I really wish they didn't do the rubber PVC skin as I transformed him once and I don't want to do it again. Watching the corners on some of those rubber pieces start squishing, bending out of shape, or look like they're about to fall off gave me a heart attack. Thus I only keep him in robot mode. If they come out with a version that replaces the skin with classic plastic, I'd gladly trade it for that.

Hey PvP, what you were saying about pieces eventually falling off...you were right. I was out of town for a week, and when I came back to my house (cold af btw), I transformed my Megs and the piece of the tail (not the big one, the little one that folds), just snapped right off. No pressure was even applied. Really disappointing.
