Great review! Thank you! By the looks of it, both this and the Generations version have their pros and cons, but neither of them are perfect. If they could just get the moving mandibles on the Generations version, that would be one step closer to Waspinator perfection. Well, since you asked, and I'm a trained environmental biologist . . . wasps have compound eyes, and each separate lens is also called an ommatidium (plural: ommatidia). Plus, when they're flying, their back wings hook onto the front wings to effectively create a single wing on each side, so that aspect of this figure is spot-on. I'm pretty pleased with the overall accuracy of the beast modes in this updated line, Dinobot's wrist angles and scales notwithstanding.

As for Rhinox, this is quite the downgrading from the Thrilling 30. the Thrill30 butt gun had a clear piece that flipped out to mimic Waspoinator’s sting shooter. In Beast Wars he shot solid spikes out of his gun, not lasers.

Well, that makes me not want to see it. Not because they dropped Waspinator in particular, but because they probably dropped him because he was comic relief in the original show, and the WfC trilogy seems to be an overly serious show, and I hate these gritty and overly serious adult series based on kid shows (ever since I read the G1 Dreamwork stuff). Is like the authors of these kind of shows think that they can't be for adults if they're not dark and serious all the time, which in turn makes them boring at worst (the usual thing) or unintentionally hilarious at best.

This figure is awesome. He's a little fiddly to pose due to them using swivels instead of ball joints for his beast legs and he is very small, but the detail is just amazing. This might as well be a masterpiece Waspinator compared to what we got in the past.

I liked WFC Kingdom, just not as much as I would've if they had the original voice actors for the maximals and predicons, or at the very least voices that sound similar. Although, I get why Megatron didn't have the same v.a, his character in WFC doesn't suit the cunning mastermind voice David Kaye has. I could never imagine the original 90s character fanatically praising his namesake unless he was trying to gain trust to betray him later. I also find it odd that there were multiple characters they never mentioned, like Terrorsaur and Waspinator. If they mentioned them at the very least, it would be ok. At least this figure brings some kind of hope, the hope being that if Waspinator didn't appear in the show and got his own figure, that means other characters who didn't appear can also get their own figures.
