Transformers Kingdom Voyager Class Dinobot Review

I’m so happy to have this figure in my collection. Dinobot is currently my favorite fidget item for Teams/Zoom meetings. The transformation of this figure fits very well with the primal noise Dinobot makes when he transforms from beast to robot mode… the complicated transition and primal yell is very fitting with the character. I always felt like Dionobot chose a complicated and painful transformation because having powerful beast and robot modes was more important than comfort. Optimus Primal on the other hand is just a beast of a robot mode and his choice of a primate beast mode is just practical. I enjoy the difference in approaches the two characters have. Both have powerful beast and robot modes but their transformation from one mode to another fits very well with their personalities. Short version… Dinobot tears himself apart to transform and Optimis Primal does the Hokey Pokey.

It’s not really a replacement, it’s more of a cheaper option. The masterpiece honestly is better in quite a few ways, but the wfc kingdom is a more affordable and available option but not as high-quality

I think we need to remember that the figure is inspired by “Beast Wars”, but made to be accurate to the Netflix series. Therefore to critique it with regards to “Beast Wars” only, is ultimately not very fair. I love it! Love your reviews as well PVP!

As amazing as Jurassic Park is, their interpretation of Velociraptors is definitely not the gold standard. Real Velociraptors would have been around the size of a turkey and covered in feathers. Dinobot's skin texture still looks fantastic though and I CANNOT WAIT to get him!

Great looking figure overall. My only gripe are the raptor mode wrists. The hands should’ve been sculpted with bends in the fingers instead of straight down. Sculpted bent fingers on a ball joint at the wrists would’ve been perfect.

You keep saying "i don't know how he/she will look in the show" I think they scan the toys so then they can be in the show, or the show is based of the toys, so the characters will look almost exactly like the toys, just like Siege and Earthrise

9:57 i like how the interiors were also sculpted with the skeletal structure, and that golden joint too. Personally I share the same opinions that the robot arms are indeed scrawny and offsets the personality of the character. The raptor hands are still quite oddly long though I’m sure third parties will immediately roll out better hands real soon

This figure is an absolute godsend. There was no way I could ever afford the Masterpiece (never pay Hot Toys prices for anything less than a Hot Toys), but I have wanted a show accurate Dinobot for 25 years. At long last I have a figure worthy of the most honorable hero in Cybertron's history. I know the raptor mode is a bit junky, but all other mainline Dinobots had terrible beast modes along with a ridiculously inaccurate robot mode. This is probably the least offensive beast mode combined with a robot mode second only to the masterpiece at 10× the price. I cannot thank Hasbro enough for this.

I know the feeling, all the other dinobot toys look so off and not show accurate at all its laughable. Lets not forget the sin of paint chipping on the masterpiece figure (I'm not paying 100+ dollars to see that kind of easy and irreparable damage over a quick session of time), the battery eyes not always working, as well as that very awkward looking shaped back and on top of all that; the transformation doesn't look that fun. and Idk what the obsession is with giving chomper face a pink blade. if i were rich and decided to get it though I'd have him displayed in robot mode all the time.

But they couldn’t engineer the robot feet better in Beast Mode? It just sticks out waaaaaay too much on an otherwise beautiful transformation.

Think the weirdest part is that they made the effort to cover the thighs in raptor mode with panels that then flipped away to give him thinner arms in robot mode. Maybe it was to make the chest thicker, but then if they hadn't made that mechanism, they could've had the base of the tail bisect instead with less parts overall I would think. Must've been a reason in design why they couldn't do that.

Honestly, for a Voyager figure, the only real complaint that I would have is the raptor head sculpt. There was a way that the original dinobot could snarl with those lips that I can't quite see in this figure.

Honestly the biggest issue with the beast mode for me is why are his hands so freaking huge?? Most of the other stuff is just minor details i can overlook but the hands just look so wonky

He was obviously broken and since I want him in robot mode he was such an eyesore I couldn't buy it. Really upset. Should've taken a picture too, just going to buy it online now I guess

Bot mode looks nice. The raptor mode is pretty derpy though. This figure is already crying out for his hands and arms to be fixed, the bot mode colors sticking out to match his raptor mode colors, and give us a reptilian slit type eyeball over a black pupil. If they fixed that it would be pretty damn perfect! If they do it then it would probably be in a Jurassic Park crossover which rumors of a Megatron Rex in Jurassic Park colors is likely going to happen.

O have a feeling that took a lot of cues from the masterpiece dinobot figure to make this especially since we never had a good voyager class dinobot before so Hasbro took the time and effort to make this very popular and favourite character for us now I do not own this figure per say but I do have the masterpiece version when I love it and I'm warming up to this figure already
