Just came across your but welding the easy way with the gas filler door. Awesome! I am literally hours from fitting and welding an entire quarter panel on my old van. I imagine the technique you demonstrate will save me a day. Never saw anyone else do it that way. Thanks for sharing.

Looked up that primer... It’s sold as a marine coating here. Is an epoxy, that’s prob why it’s a good bit of gear and seals off everything. I’m fixing up a 78 semi White. Alloy roof needs some work, it’s worn thro at the bracing.

Great vid.. thanks for sharing.. primer must be urethane base.. ? like windshield sealer.. gets harder over time. Little different in finding a 'tool case' under the dash.. I usually only find wrenches. Long life and good health to you and yours.

Just found your channel Fitzee. Learning a lot so far. I am smak in the middle of doing the filler and sanding on my 67 coupe so this info is helpful. Few spots I had to build up the body lines with filler. What a bitch to get things to look stock. Keep up the good work.

Do you drill your hinges before you remove the panels for easy line up on reinstall

No its a good idea to drill but I just fit them before I do any work or primer and when it comes time to reinstall I know that they fit before. Done many a door alinement over the years.
