@dmitryvodolazsky5 жыл бұрын

Damn this is so inspiring. I really hope game makers will watch this and see how hard it is to make even a tiny iron tool aka a knife. Nowadays we have lots and lots of games with survival crafting theme, sure a game that's too realistic could be boring, but the game mechanics are sometimes too easy and unrealistic, one man is limited to what he can do. I hope there will be a game that's focused on the realism aspect starting from this making a knife the primitive way, and climb to making a damascus steel katana and arrow with steel tip and feathers for 100% accuracy. A Knife is a knife, to make a kill is to either land it to a vital point of the body or make the animal losing too much blood. So fighting a wolf in a game for example we have to be able to aim the knife to its heart or its head, or if we hit random would only bleed him, and the game will have a mechanic making the wolf flee when losing about 90% blood, and it will keep losing blood and keep slowing its movement, when reaching about 25% blood the wolf will faint, and we have the option to end his life or save him to breed him, that's another game mechanic, can't really tame a wolf or any creature by making it hate you, so we will breed it and tame the cub. That would be a very good game mechanic and complex. Most games are too simple.

Excellent work! A knife and a chisel -- two of the four most essential tools, and they are both made of iron/steel. (I assume that you hardened and then tempered both of them before you sharpened them, as they are neither bending nor shattering under normal use.). Next, a drill-bit and then a saw, and you will be well on your way into the Iron Age. Congratulations! That's an accomplishment that very few other primitive technology enthusiasts can boast!

He shows it in one of his previous videos, he basically mixes crushed iron ore with crushed coal and flux, makes like a ball and cooks it, resulting in those small iron prills.

Where do you find iron ore though? Or, how do you determine the presence of iron ore in an area (without modern aids) then mine for it?
@MrzukAba4 жыл бұрын
You look for "tells". Search for a rock with red-redish color, that indicates a presence of iron.

Please make a real life series, a life of primitive man with only a cloth on his body, starting from stone age to iron and thrive from there. Even making a bow with good accuracy probably hard when only have stone lol, that could really inspire lots of ppl and appreciate what we already have now in life. 2:55 even that furnace is primitive, it has lots of cracks but it gets the job done.

@@marco71187 you can't smelt prills like this with an open faced crucible. That's not how iron works. If you allow air to get to the iron and you don't have a medium to absorb the impurities all you get is a slag lump.
