As one who has raised a lot of chickens, I would suggest that you build a six foot by six foot pen, the same type of fence as you made for the garden, off to the side of your chicken house to raise your young chickens in.. it cuts down on the chick loss greatly....you can sit the nesting boxes inside a small lean-to to keep the rain off the nesting hens, and then the chicks that hatch can grow up in safety inside their own pen with plenty of room to scratch and eat bugs .. Also, if your not getting all of the eggs from your hens, maybe put another laying nest inside the chicken house itself so that you have 3 laying nests..that will also help you know when a hen is wanting to sit on eggs to hatch and then she and the eggs can be moved to the hatching pen.. I hope my suggestions help.. happy holidays to you and your family ..

i could be wrong but i think those aren't gonna lay eggs as often as farm chickens. I think they might be jungle fowl? not sure if wild chickens do the regular egg laying thing

@@CheerfuEntropy They are a blend of American Game chickens and Asil. The sport of cockfighting is huge over there and they’ve heavily imported fowl from the US since before the Vietnam War, which have mixed with their native game fowl and then gone feral. The hens will typically lay less than 100 eggs a year, generally wanting to set after 10-12 eggs and won’t lay again till the chicks are weaned.

Here in the UK a majority of ponds near where I live they have wooden ramps that allow animals that have fallen in to swim to get out, you could made a load of those up and place them every 10 meters because the animals will panic when trying to get out. Great video!

Hey Duong, i am 37 years old and from Germany. it is below freezing point here due to the winter. i hope you and your family doing well and everybody is in good health. i have been watching your progress for quite a while now. it is lovely to see your farm grow and your projects come to fluition. a little hint for your fence, maybe add a Layer of crossed Bamboo to strenghten it´s durability, as it seems quite wobbly from being placed in soft dirt. you also mentioned that the kitchenroof begins to become unstable and showed that the main bamboo log was broken some episodes ago. will you make a wooden frame and maybe clay rooftiles? do the woodplanks you created the roof for the main house not rot relatively quickly with the amount of rain you seem to have?

Hi Duong! have been watching your videos for a very long time, but have never commented. You are very hard working and very creative as well. I am from Sweden, it is -15 outside. Nothing can be grown here in winter, theer is only ice and snow. BTW - being able to grow bamboo is an unfair advantage ;))) In the coutryside, I can weave fences mainly with fresh willow twigs and stems. It grows quite fast, but not as fast as bamboo and not in those amounts. That is how our ancestors used to do it, but now people only make it as a hobby.

The weather there is similar to Vietnam's weather. As a kid, I wanted to try my own challenge, just like yours. But Florida is too populated and overdeveloped. It was not possible. However, watching you work has kept a piece of my childhood in tact! Thank you, Duong! 😁

Sugar could you try crushing up some of that lime stone you use for making iron on the lot for you vegetables. Spreading it out. Looks like that soil is acidic, ash from wood also , the chicken shit mature harvested of course is excellent. Wood bars , thicker the better , set out in organized lengths laid out in the soil release minerals for better production. Any and all weeds , and organic material from the forest spread out, thicker the better. Does not have to be worked in or decomposed. Right on top.

Hey Duong!! I'm from Brazil, I follow your project for a long time and I love what you do, please don't stop!! You've been asking us for tips and feedback, and here are some of the things I've got: -Do you like mushrooms? Your region looks pretty humid, is it good for growing mushrooms on tree trunks? would you do it for us? -I have noticed that you spend a lot of time with fish food and that part of it ends up floating in the lake. If the food is shredded, would these leftovers run out? With this in mind, it would be interesting for you to build a food crusher, just as you have a food crusher to make flour, you could make something to grind grass and leaves into smaller pieces for animals and fish, making you have less time spent on chopping them with the knife and less leftovers. -An idea for fertilizers: create a compost bin with organic materials, so creating fertilizer for the plantation would be faster? -Kitchen renovation project, make bamboo walls create a wind shelter in cold days? -Use the area just in front of the house door, where there is this "hole" before the lake, could you create a small rice paddy in the water? just like you did a long time ago. -Traps for predators, urgent!! At the same time, create a fenced-in chicken coop for all the chickens.

I never try to guess what you will do next; your creativity always surprises me, just like your creative and unique camera angles. Will you need a fence for the other side of the garden? I have seen several people in your part of the world do this very easily. It would be very easy for a new roof over the kitchen and much easier than wood times. God bless you and your family and all your efforts.

You asked about the weather? I live on the Kenai peninsula, Alaska. We got our first good snow in mid October. Usually it melts a few times before mid December when it will then stay and get deeper until April or May. This year it didn't! We started with about 20 cm in October and we're up to about a meter now!! We got about 25 cm last night! And out temperature all week will be -4c for a HIGH! And -15c for a low! A nice "hot" summers day here is 20c with an average of about 15c. I still love it though!

Well: im a Applied psychology student from the Netherlands. Thats a broad study with multiple fields but its basicly the study and science of behavior and mental processes. My plan is to become a psychologist that will optimize the educational system. Now im working on a researchproject to clearify what teachers already do on daily basis to include cultural knowledge of students. Its a lot of reading and thinking. Your videos are a relaxing moment when my head is full of information. After watching your videos I mostly am al ready again to go back to reading, so thanks for that!
