Japanese eddition: gihyo.jp/book/...
This video coincides with the release of my new book "Primitive technology", which releases exactly 4 years and 6 months since my first video post on this channel. This video compilation, as well as the book, outlines all the skills and achievements I've attained in this time period using research, hard work and trial and error. Writing this book is something I wanted to do even before making videos and launching this channel. I wanted to offer something tangible that benefited those who had the same keen interest in primitive technology as I do. With that, I thank each and every one of you for your continued support throughout the years, and I really hope you enjoy the book. You can pre-order here: po.st/PrimTechBook

About Primitive Technology:
Primitive technology is a hobby where you build things in the wild completely from scratch using no modern tools or materials. These are the strict rules: If you want a fire, use a fire stick - An axe, pick up a stone and shape it - A hut, build one from trees, mud, rocks etc. The challenge is seeing how far you can go without utilizing modern technology. I do not live in the wild, but enjoy building shelter, tools, and more, only utilizing natural materials. To find specific videos, visit my playlist tab for building videos focused on pyrotechnology, shelter, weapons, food & agriculture, tools & machines, and weaving & fiber.

Because of this guy, I have atleast one fort at all of my family member's houses (at the farms and in the woods) that I built with my brother and my friend. I'm currently building a shelter in the woods next to my house using mud brick and whatever else I can manage to build with. He is such an inspiration and I remember when I first watched his videos, I was amazed at how 1 man can do all of this with the least amount of technology possible. Yeah, he did. However, the people ripping him off are not as good as he is. Most of the things they build would end up hurting/killing you. OTHER PRIMITIVE CHANNELS: "Ooooo! Look at me, building a primitive underground mansion with a waterfall swimming pool and spike traps for home defense." ME: "Yeah, that's nice......until you get a good down-pour of rain. Then, you can drown in your primitive mansion; or, get crushed when the rains causes the whole thing to collapse down on you. Also, your 'swimming pool' will act like a breeding ground for mosquitoes...soooooo, would you like to malaria much?" It seems like the only things they're building are primitive graves for themselves. Which is why I like this guy; he's grounded and down-to-Earth about the things he builds.

I feel the same way as all the commenters ^^^ in this particular thread; these videos are calming and informative and relieve stress. And there should be a therapy program for men using these vids and the book. I wonder if the PTSD community has anything to add to this thread about how it has helped them? I find that recovery is a long journey and productive actions are grounding and therapudic. These videos have a way of sucking the viewer into the environment as if they were there learning from the master. They create a feeling of safety through seclusion and knowledge of the environment, floura and fauna and teaching basic requirements to support life in a primitive condition setting. It gives hope in a world that demands taking that from you at every turn possible.
