Mike, I literally swear by the Rogue Echo. It keeps my blood pressure down, keeps my A1C in normal range. Keeps my pants fitting nicely! Obviously you won't have to think about any of that for several years. (I'm 61). Here's a tip. I used black gorilla tape over the cage. I covered 90% of the cage, but chose the exact angle that I wanted the air to hit me. Also, I enjoy using the machine with the Polar Chest strap. The console will display your heart rate right from the strap. It's cool to run through various zones of cardiovascular effort. I hope and trust this machine to keep me healthy, along with the other good decisions along the way. Bourbon and Coffee are my vice's. A man has to live a little! Talk soon Mike. God bless.

Hello sir what workout do you do with this bike?
@Besokool

@@edwardrodriguez3529 Hello sir. Background info. I'm 61 - kidney transplant recipient over 20 years. I have mild heart disease, and mild high blood pressure. This is why I don't really do hard intervals. I wear a heart rate monitor, and stay just above the fat burn zone (120 beats per minute for my age). I stay there for about 40 minutes, which is around 11 miles. I've been using this type of machine for decades. The doctor continues to be impressed at my fitness level. Most people use the Echo for intervals. Steady state cardio, or high intensity intervals...this machine will keep you lean - if you don't eat like an animal. Best of luck!

I can confirm your loose arm situation. I found that many people had this same problem. My right arm wobbled out of the box. I cranked it, too, but in the end, what worked best was simply tightening after using the bike for a week or so. Repeated the process a couple of times before all of the play was tightened out. It's been solid as a rock for well over a year now. Irony with the "loose arm" language from above: you alluded to shoulder health, and it's something I've been thinking about lately. I've had an unstable shoulder since my intercollegiate athletics days in 1986 with my first shoulder subluxation event, and my last event occuring in 2004. I'm very athletic, but my shoulder is always on my mind. Just recently I've upped my time on the Echo doing 30+ minutes in zones 2 and 3. Since that time, and since doing bent rows in the gym, my shoulder has been feeling unstable with moments of pain. Never had pain before. I'm wondering if the Echo bike is to blame? 🤔🤔🤔

Thank you for the review. Surprised that there are no other Echo V3.0 reviews. I have the V2.0 and was thinking of upgrading the console to V3.0 which is available separately but have seen no reviews on it. I like the Echo Bike for my HIIT Cardio workouts. Like you stated, it’s a beast. I also had the same jankyness with one of the arms. I just cranked down on the nut.

I love it and use it everyday-- steady state only-- and as a Total Gym warmup. A few mods I made: (1) bought the wind guard which is helpful in the winter, and keeps your eyes from drying out, (2) bought the phone holder which installs below the controller, (3) installed an extra large cup holder (holes are already in there for one), (4) installed vertical add-on handles so you can vary your grip as need to, and (5) most importantly-- I installed a bucket seat which is way more comfortable, and my caboose isn't even big. I don't even have batteries in the controller, and just use the Polar app on my phone. The only problems I've ever had is the belt starts to squeak in one spot on the belt and you have to lube it and it goes away. There are YT vids out there to address the loose arm issue, but I never had that problem. No idea what version I have though.
@hybridresistance
@hybridresistance 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for all that information. I had a segment I edited out talking about all the add-ons. You’re right about the wind guard in the wintertime, it does get intense. At the very least I wish I didn’t go cheap not getting the phone holder.

Where did you get the add on vertical grips? For the Rogue Echo bike
@Agent_G_33

@@Timm129 Hey Tim, I've had several people ask, and it's a bit too complicated to describe here without pics, so I may make a short YT video about it. I've tried adding pics or links on here before, and KZbin just deletes the whole post. After a lot of research I wasn't able to find a product made for this purpose, So, long story short, I found a part meant for something else, and added foam grips to it. If I can make a quick video in the next week or two, I'll let you know. It has made my rides much easier on my back, and allows you to switch up your grip however you want. It looks and works great, is simple to do, and only costs around $30 (as of a couple years ago) with parts you can easily get from most online stores.

Hello Mike! I just discovered your channel after ordering my new bike! I'm mid 20's and am looking to increase my heart rate daily for cardiovascular benefits. I work from home the majority of the week and don't get steps in like many of my friends who work in trade. Desk jobs... Is there any training routine you would recommend in conjunction with working out 5 days a week for strength training? I'm looking to improve not only strength, but to continuously improve my cardio in conjunction. I want to be well rounded and this bike eliminates weather for cardio. Thank you I'm advance!
@hybridresistance
@hybridresistance 5 ай бұрын
Thanks Matt, and welcome to the channel! For the cardiovascular benefits (as with resistance training), there's many ways to skin that cat. But I tend to focus a little more simplistically. If you simply jumped on the bike 3-5 days as week or at the end of resistance training for ~20min, you'll increase your cardiovascular system just fine. If you're looking to take it up a notch, just follow the same principles of "progression" in any way you wish. Incorporate intervals, get the same distance in a little less time, hit higher calorie number in same designated time, etc, it's really up to you. Just be mindful not to over do it. The cardio adaptations come on pretty quick (but can be lost relatively quick). But if you just want the simple benefits, sticking to ~20min in varying intensity levels a few times a week is solid basic structure.

This is a great medical device because after having a meal being a diabetic my blood sugar rises. It’s amazing what 15 minutes will do on this bike. It will lower it lease 40 points. Also use the polar HTN chest strap heart monitor also use the gorilla clear tape to put over the backside of the cage, I will probably go by the black tape that grill makes I’m going to redesign the cell phone holder. I’m going to take a bulbhead cell phone holder, drill a little holes in it so you could turn the cell phone sideways and watch a video while you exercise.

The wobble in the handle could simply be related to the fact that this bike is made in China. While China is technically capable of making high quality products, the overwhelming majority of manufacturers do not choose China for quality, they choose it for lower price and higher quantity. Quality control is one of the first things to go out the window. Rogue makes a lot of their higher end stuff in the USA, it is kind of what they are known for. The whole reason they do that is to ensure high quality. These days, though, more and more of their non-flagship products are made in China specifically because they are placing a priority on low price rather than quality. Note, also, that this V3.0 is $850, which is actually cheaper than the V2.0 which was around $1,200. Overall, the design is good. The materials chosen are well suited for the job. I have no doubt it will last a long time. But, I think you are more likely to see issues in fit and finish, accessories (a lot of people are complaining about multiple issues with the wind guard, for example, including it not mounting correctly due to holes not lining up properly), etc.

Dang Skyler now every time I'm on this I"m going to have you floating around my head saying "made in China, made in China".. But seriously, I'm right there with you on stuff made overseas. My interview with Khalid at Harambe had made me think more kinder of their manufacturing processes (of course it varies), but according to him he was finding better manufacturing overseas than the USA for what he needed. I also heard about that price drop, which I'm sure possibly could have cut corners somewhere to get that down. I might be overthinking the bar give, but I'm going to contact them regardless on this. Thanks for watching again. I picked up another item per our discussion, I'll share in the future.

Can you build muscle with echo bike? Also can you replace this cardio with burpees and for example kb swings?
@hybridresistance
@hybridresistance 4 ай бұрын
I wouldn't use it for muscle building as there are much better things per use of your time. You could get a cardiorespiratory effect doing burpees ( or some modified version of them), but the main problem is that they can get a little cumbersome to do them for longer than say >5min, not to mention potential for injury as you fatigue.
