What I love about this channel is that it shows ancient people were not "primitive" in the sense of stupid. They were extremely intelligent, and made the best use of what was available to them at the time. People speak of cavemen as if they were different from us, but 10,000 years is not even a blink of an evolutionary eye. They were exactly the same as us. Respect to the maker of this video for showing how it may have looked to survive in a world before modern conveniences.
@coabg9 жыл бұрын
+Marialla you are right. But i think that now with our pure intelligence (not knowledge), if we were put to the same situation like our ancestors, we would've surpassed them within maybe one generation, whereas they needed thousands of years to come up with something little more advanced.
@vincentliuo9 жыл бұрын
and possibly even smarter with nothing already built before them
@varsam9 жыл бұрын
+coabg Actually it will be opposite. We will fall behind some generation behind. The level of our intelligence is equal, but our knowledge in this surroundings they are more developed. For an example, take a normal man and put it in this conditions of life, i can tell you, he will not survive more than a year(in best scenario). If that man is not knowleged like this man in the video or even half of it, the man from the example is doomed. Today people can only use tv, smartphone and refrigerator, to make own fire whit out a ligher ... pfff no chanse, most people dont even know that clay can be use for building. And the same people in a world of primative, will call the man of the video idiot, will never listen to him, but will want him to do it for them. Our generation have become lazy, less curious and not thinking.
@annehaight99639 жыл бұрын
+coabg No, because the kind of technological advancement you're talking about requires much more than just smart people. It requires an industrial infrastructure and an economy, and these are things that take time to develop on a large enough scale.
@Marialla.9 жыл бұрын
***** It is a mistake to assume there is any advance in pure intelligence of modern man. We have more access to knowledge from around the world, and that sharing makes us smarter as a whole, but as individuals we are not one little bit smarter than humans from half a million years ago. Looking at pure intelligence as creativity and the ability to solve problems, remember complex information by rote, perform complex physical skills of strength, endurance, dexterity, and fine motor functions, and put it all to practical use in the world, it could be argued that modern man is actually somewhat less than ancient man, because they had to do it all in their head, where we have writing, videos, mass communication, and smartphones to hold our knowledge for us. So while our potential as babies is equal, and our outcome as adults may be greater, our specific use of brain power is likely rather atrophied.

Chuck House When does it ever fail in the past 1000 years? Tough chance it would happen in our lifetime.
@ChuckHouse4208 жыл бұрын
MrPathorn Well considering the modern grid is only slightly more than 100 years thats a silly question. However in the 1870's there was a solar flare that knocked out the telegraph lines. You can read the newspaper articles about the trouble that caused. When it happens again (not if, but when) we will lose most modern cars, GPS, electricity, without electricity many people will not be able to get water, flush toilets, wash clothes, pump gas, heat or cool their homes, refrigerate food. Basically it will be a disaster. And i could happen at anytime. With barely minutes of warning. EMPs and solar flares are very real threats to our modern way of life.

@@victorbazooka4327I agree but by saying this you are implying that you advocate for mass suffering of billions due to the population being so high. Nature has a population cap and we a far passed that. We are hanging on for dear life with industrialized foods. Many would have to die for people to live off land and it would have to happen many of times because the cap limit doesn't change and population rises exponentially. Correct me if im wrong please.
@victorbazooka43274 жыл бұрын
@@Clashinite wrong. imagine all of world HUMAN population would detroy asphalt-roads and and cars(i bet we could make a mountain higher than everest with all thoise freaking cars people "need") i Bet it would take 2years to regrow earth and another 2-4 years for animals to settle. IF you read history then you know there more than just humans on earth and by mmy judgement id say 4/5 earth "human pop" is not human at all. (it all happend 7000years ago and its easy to see if you read histpry combined with the few first pages of the bible + some modern archeology founds) And god said "Behold for man has now become one of us..." aliens.. they live among us already and they are the reason earth is being detroyed, cause when you live forever, you need a purpose. i know it sound fucked up :( Also it will never happen because then rich pigs had to give up their power, and there wouldnt be brainwashed people working for them. It all boils down to the individual. I will never own a car. i try not to buy my food at a store, i try not to buy clothes, going all the way down to using a massproduced scissor. And its difficult, cause you look like a hobo when you live like this, and when you look like a hobo, people look at you like you're shit (cause they are brainwashed into having that mentality) and that is by far the hardest thing about it. It is actually easy to save the planet. the less you do the more you save earth. dont own a phone.. don't own a computer, dont use internet, dont fancy the idea of jobs, school, and governments (i know i write you now from a pc, with internet, bnut i didnt own a pc for 5 years, and i still dont want a phone. cause phones and cars are the 1. freaking weapons of mass detruction)

Ancient or primitive man was, indeed, smarter than today's average person, because most of the people back then died pretty often. Only the strongest, smartest and the fittest survived long enough. But today we have an incredible collective society, with tons and tons of written experience, so that each new generation could focus on improving society it self, while skipping such extremes as hunting or fire making ;)

@EliosMoonElios9 жыл бұрын
CreaturePlaysGames Is not admirable when "survivors" show how to make fire without matches or lighters but they need to make a very bulky and complex tool. · Made with very specific stuff, only find in specialized stores and they say it is for survival situations when no one will carry such ugly and bulky tool 24/7 waiting for a disaster to happen, when buying a lighter an carry it 24/7 is so easy and convenient, those are just posers.
@gakulon9 жыл бұрын
+EliosMoonElios Oh, I see, you mean like an all-in-one survival tool. Yeah, that's stupid, but even with tools, surviving can be hard. However, starting from scratch is always the hardest and the one to warrant the most praise. You shouldn't even need tools to survive if you're trained. The most I could see someone needing things like an axe or a machete in a survival situatuon is if they are an average Joe.
