Great interview. I was lucky enough to see Primordial at Hellfest in 2011 (coming from Canada) and Alan's performance (as well as the rest of the band) was spellbinding. I was literally in awe of how much passion and emotion and power there was in the music. I believe Alan is one the best and most underrated frontmen in metal!

You're somehow forgetting about one of the most important bands of old school rock / metal history, an -Irish - band by the name of Thin Lizzy!! Also, you're forgetting about stiff Little fingers, who started out the same the as the sex pistols, out of northern Ireland (my homeland) Plus (as you mentioned) Slade. Pop/ rock/ punk was absolutely festering in Ireland Like the fields of our Rotten potato's! The ingredients were always there. It's worth mentioning The Exploited from Scotland..

I would not count on Black Metal for his wisdom. There are plenty of guy in bands, not to mention fans, which are just the opposite of everything he represents. Mostly black metal bands are doing childishly blasphemy against sacred symbols and trying to subvert the meaning of everything they can. This guy is setting things into its right place.

Don't get me wrong i love toooons of cultural and entertainment stuff from the home of the braves. But, I'm really some kind of elitist when its come to black metal outside from Europe and Quebec. Same for exemple to Death Metal, i forced to admit American makes better Death Metal and Hardcore than Europeans. There's some exception to the rules, of course. But, overall is what i observe. Cowardice and political correctness unfortunately has become an overall desired trace of personality among metal fans nowadays. . I’m Brazilian and for many years i couldn’t understand the lyrics so I’d never made a distinction on themes and ideology of lyrics content. If it’s saying something I disagree I will take it as the artists opinion or impressions on it. As for the death metal I’m might be just on the opposite side of you Lol. Some of the biggest for me in the 90: were the European ones like Carcass, Pestilence, Entombed, Dismember, Hypocrisy, Gorefeast Atrocity and Napalm. From America I have only 2 fave death metal bands: Death and Obituary.

I'll tell you a secret: I rarely do background stuff. I wanna go there like a virgin noob asking the questions I wouldn't ask if I already knew the answers to them, you know. I like to keep my questions somewhat vague, as I've learned my lesson to not to ask "yes/no" questions. So, of course if this is your favorite band, you're bound to be disappointed. That's just how it goes.
