John has the technical capability of stepping in and playing live in two weeks. He can play from Neal Peart to Dream Theatre. Yep that’s a bold statement, you judge for yourself. His ability to adapt would be seamless. Yep he is my brother and I am biased., but he undeniably a bad ass, and a master of his domain.

1. Solid! 2. That’s the most intense and dialed in e-kit I have ever seen/heard. 3. What do you use to light the underside of your triggers?
@JohnDunstonDrumsАй бұрын
@@officerbiss Thanks brother! I’m happy to answer your question! I used 3 foot led light strips. Instead of using the battery packs they came with I bought usb cables to power them, that I plugged into a powered USB hub. The hardest part was I had to drill holes in the side of the Roland PDX 100 since there is no opening on the bottom to run the cable for power. Hope that helps.

Dude.. I *JUST* got a Roland TD-17KVX2 a few days ago.. While watching these submissions I was like "Man, it'd be cool if someone used an electric kit.." .... Boom. here you are with a BADASS ROLAND KIT!! I'm jealous, BUT.. Now I know what I can do with this kit! I fucking love the LEDs.. Also, rock solid playing dude..
@JohnDunstonDrums17 күн бұрын
@@P2000Camaro Thanks, brother! I’m excited for you! The sonic possibilities of e-drum kits are endless-you’ve got access to every drum and cymbal ever made, recorded by the best engineers in the best studios. Plus, the ability to practice without the volume of an acoustic kit is a total game-changer. I’d highly recommend using your MIDI out to trigger a program like Superior Drummer 3. That said, the onboard sounds are great for practice. You really can’t go wrong with Roland drums either-they’re the most durable and best-triggering e-drums I’ve ever used. Just make sure to dial in your settings so the drums respond as close to an acoustic kit as possible. I do this to ensure a seamless transition if I ever need to switch back to an acoustic setup. Merry Christmas!

Primus definitely needs acoustic drums.
@jriding6161Ай бұрын
very impressive but I don't think Primus needs double-bass. Sounds like a heavier version of the original which to some may be good but not me. Still impressive playing.
@JohnDunstonDrumsАй бұрын
@@jriding6161 Wynonna‘s Big Brown Beaver has double Bass in it as does Tommy the Cat, Jerry was a Race Car Driver, My Name is Mud as well as many others primus songs. Thanks though brother!
@brenmfffusmc7803Ай бұрын
Your crazy bro, Primus has hella double bass in many of their songs. Have you actually listened to them? Any regular listener of the band would absolutely know that....just saying. John killed it, and definitely could see him playing with Primus!
@Thurgor_Supreme19 күн бұрын
No offense, but I don't think they want a guy with an e-kit
@muffinman4353Ай бұрын
Your fake electronic drum sound just ain't cuttin' it Johnny. The rubber cymbals sound like garbage..... you're not the right fit, don't quit your cover band.
