One of the things I love about how bass drum in the original is how it, at times, almost sounds like exhaust pops.

Quickly becoming a favorite series of mine on youtube. It's like hearing the song for the first time all over again with them creating a different drum beat. Its also pretty cool how close they get to the original drums on some parts. My grandpas name was Jerry and he was a racecar driver in the 60's on dirt tracks. This song is a badass reminder of him for me.

It really makes me appreciate Tim and Les even more. Tim leaves open so much space for the groove to be carried mainly by Les' amazing bass line, and with Tim's footwork only supporting the bass even more without ever getting in the way. Kaz's stink face says it all when listening to it back in the end. That track just GROOVES!

Primus without drums is bizarre. I know some bands, like Nirvana and Blink 182, rely heavy on their drummer to carry their songs and fill open space. I mean both bands took off AFTER they added two legendary drummers in Dave and Travis and thats not coincidence. I was always a casual listener to Primus but damn. The drumless part is crazy. What a challenge. Dude killed it.

This guy did what SO MANY other drummers in this series have failed to do: He kept the drums in the rhythm section. So many other drummers, when faced with this challenge, end up playing the drums as a lead instrument. With so many fills, flourishes, etc. Primus is certainly known for complex drums, but they are always secondary to the bass, in this case. Kaz did a great job of just laying back in the cut, while still keeping it interesting.

It NEVER ceases to amaze me, that these drummers almost come up with the exact beat, almost every time. From how he began, I thought he was going to destroy the song, but he did quite well, until he went double time!!!😳 Whoops!!!😂 Still sounded amazing!!! I do like the way he tried different beats at the beginning, while practicing and feeling out the tune.😊 That shows an amazing drummer, who likes to analyze. Awesome job. Not one of the best but definitely very good!!!👍🏼🫡🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

@Dmz24810 ай бұрын
Oh yes, this is one of the coolest of the series! Kaz is perfect for this one too, love how his explorations changed the vibe of the track, goes to show that drums in Primus are just as nuts and demanding as the bass parts. I laughed out loud when i heard the doom outro. Also we need more primus-drumeo content! Three beastly drummers in a band to explore and lots and lots of incredible tracks to dive into. Maybe even get Tim Alexander on drumeo.

HAHAHAHA that was fun. Primus is such an amazing band. Kaz's double-time in the second half was really interesting and gave a who new vibe to the song. Almost as if playing like a "race car driver" and speeding it up. He did a great job and was spot on for much of it. He caught the groove.
