This was my last concert with Prince. Earlier he was referring to a young woman in the crowd. She had purple images of Prince on her cheeks and forehead. She was riding on some blokes shoulders. But probably near died or got shy, hence the "We got a runner" line, as she had gotten off the shoulders. Played 3.5hrs and definitely the highlight of the 10 shows i was lucky enough to witness. This is but a tiny fraction of that magical show, with a magical audience. It was brilliant.

First concert of his I attended was in 1988 with his proto New Power Generation band. Last show I ever saw him was with 3rd Eye.

Danish bass player Ida Kristine Nielsen on bass, Donna Grantis guitar and Hannah Welton on drums. Ida was also a member of New Power Generation. A very great bass player. There are some live stuff where Prince let the girls show how good they are. Donna Grantis are a very good guitarist as well.

This one starts in the middle of the song, but it cuts to the chase for the solos. Still, there are other standout live versions of this tune that has all of the verses of the song before the extended bridge and solos. It's worth your time to chase a few of the alternative versions for another reaction.
