Sitting here stunned, listening to this full, unedited version for the 1st time, having listen to the regular version literally hundreds of times, I am just beginning to realize what I've missed. Be be honest, I doubt very few people will get to know, understand the breadth, width and depth of Prince or Michael's Genius. Prince truly had much more in his cache than many will ever know. RIP. This song sparks so many emotions in me to this day. Prince has so many great songs, but this is probaly my favorite of all. Its dark, full of emotion, sexy, and heart breaking all at the same time. This song is like a ole school blues song, its an A-Z of a hurtful relationship, if you've been through it, then you feel this song to the bone.

The original is better. This one dilutes the intensity of the original and feels a bit sloppy. The orginal is perfect and a masterpiece. I disagree with everyone saying this is better. But it's fun to hear it.

I need to hear why this full version was left off the 'Purple Rain Super Deluxe or whatever they called it' set. What in gods name would have been the reason? Was there a handwritten note by Prince stuck on the tape saying: "Do not ever make this public?" - It's a crime that this was not included (but that Velvet Pussycat was. Yeah, that had a lot to do with the PR outtakes. Geez). As well as the full length version of Darling Niki. Thats 2 separate crimes Paisley Park has committed for his most famous album's box set. Epic failure folks.
