As I sit here at age 74, I remember this day ( early morning in US). 36 yrs ago. I was on night shift, LPN charge nurse. I put all patients' tv's on NBC. I had a small tv at nurses station. I had 2 CNA'S. 1 laughed at me for wanting to watch it. I said: u are witnessing history!--- we managed to do our morning work & see it happening off & on. Best part of that union was 2 beautiful daughters.

It is hilarious how Bryant Gumbel misidentified Peter Phillips as Prince William and says "Sara Phillips" instead of Zara. The child walking with Prince William was the daughter of Diana's sister, Baroness Jane Fellowes. Somehow the comments made by Bryant and Jane Pauley sound ridiculous. Then the comment of Sarah's tiara being loaned to her by a friend. Good grief, the commentators were totally clueless about what was going on. Sarah's tiara was a gift from the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and purchased from Garrard & Co. Then Jane Pauley showing her ignorance again and fighting with Bryant when he stated that Sarah was also going to be titled, Princess Andrew and she said, "No she's not." Upon her marriage, Sarah became; Her Royal Highness The Princess Andrew, Duchess of York, Countess of Inverness and Baroness of Killyleagh, also attaining the rank of Princess of the United Kingdom. Now of course, she is only styled as Sarah, Duchess of York and no longer The Duchess of York.

The only royal marriage that I've seen with any real emotion from the bride and groom is Harry and Meghan's wedding. Andrew and Sarah stood at the alter, said their vows to each other, but not once did I hear emotion in their tone. They never once even looked at each other, never mind lovingly look at each other.
