It was a wonderful wedding, Sarah was a bride of her time, even the flower wreath was marvellous. Millions were happy and had a fantastic time. Actually that is incorrect. The queen did not buy the tiara for Sarah. It is known as the "York Tiara" and was lent to Sarah Ferguson foe her marriage to Andrew by his grandmother--the Queen Mother. If you watch any older documentaries about the Queen Mother you will see her wearing it several occasions. When she was in her twenties she wore it low down on her forehead as was the fashion in the 1920's and 30's. Princess Margaret has also been filmed wearing the York tiara on many occasions during the 1950's and 60's. The last time I spotted it, Serena Stanhope, the ex-wife of David Armstrong-Jones--now the Earl Snowdon, wore it on her wedding day.

Actually the first commentator is correct.The Queen had the York Tiara commissioned for Sarah for her Wedding to Prince Andrew as a Wedding present. Serena Stanhope,Countess Snowden NEVER wore the ‘York Tiara’.She actually wore the ‘Lotus Flower Tiara’ which was loaned to her on her wedding Day by Princess Margaret.Google her Wedding Photo’s and they refer to this. Only Sarah and her eldest Daughter Princess Beatrice of York have ever worn the ‘York Tiara’,as it is in fact owned by the Duchess of York and is in her possession to this day.

They should have sat down, before the marriage, to reveal any impediments to the marriage.
