His vocal range was insane 4.5 octaves … vocal and musical genius. You might recognise the song Nothing Compares To You - sinead oConnor covered in 1990circa massive global hit but that song along with many others ppl dontrealise were Prince penned songs

Prince was a musical genius, played all instruments, wrote all lyrics, fantastic vocal range, arranged, composed, produced, danced… did everything! He could go into a studio and overnight come out with a number 1 record on his own! Him and MJ … no comparison. Prince was like Mozart 💜 x

@@Pharaohleague1 so which instruments couldn’t he play then?! He did say himself that he could play any instrument. He played flute and sax at school. No you never saw him play these because he didn’t vibe with them. But he could play them! There’s an instance in the studio he played harp when he’d only been sat with it for 5 minutes. You have to take into consideration every instrument played takes practice and there’s only so many hours in the day to devote to practice. You only hear him and see him play a selection of instruments but that doesn’t mean he isn’t competent on others. I don’t ever know how he fit everything he did into his days as it is!

Neither song was about Susannah. She says they were but Jill jones Jesse Johnson and others say they were about vanity. If you listen to the lyrics and know when they were released you see he was talking about a breakup. In the Chris rock interview he talks about say certain song are about them but he didn't even know them at the time they were wrote. Also proof is when he found out about Vanitys death he sang Adore during his concert 😭.

The main reason for the comparison between P and MJ is because they were the first two black pop stars to be that big. Nothing else. If you watch the Purple Rain video on the Sinnick22 KZbin channel, you'll see that Prince was coming for everyone. Michael just happened to be in the way. I love their work equally for different reasons.

@@jovanreid6782 his music is amazing tho. There's no rule saying 2 legends can co exist. Michaels simplicity was percection, and when he made more complicated tracks they were packed with more instruments and stuff you'd expect them to. You should look up 'home studio simplified' on KZbin. He's got great analysis videos of mj multitrack raw material. His voice is perfect and so is everything about the songs. Peace

Prince is a genius because he couldn't be boxed in. If you really want to know about him and his music check out Sinnik22 channel. It's a great channel. I've been a prince fan since he appeared on the Midnight Special singing I wanna be your lover. He was so talented that he even dipped into jazz blues and instrumental with the creation of the band Madhouse, funk with the Time, Sheila E, pop with Vanity 6 and the Family amongst others. The man was unstoppable and there'll never be another.

He could sing mellow, sweet, sexy, broke his throat as old school rockers, scat like a jazzman and rap! He got one of the widest vocal ranges of rock and he knew how to use it.
