Prince used emg's which are typically used by heavy rock, which used with his incredible funk guitar style makes it just so much better!! Incredible genius who could do it all.

Prince is THE MOST SLEPT ON GUITARIST! Top 5 ever when you consider his skill level and sonic choices musically. Joy in Repetition Live, When My Guitar Gently Weeps and his cover of Radiohead Creep are some of my favorite solos. He has tons of guitar work tucked in the background of his songs.

All his musicians in his band were great ‘followers’ as P would conduct his band throughout every performance (never was 2 the same) so they had to learn to follow - his brands were always sanely tight! He also used a lot of females musicians
