lol it was finished. problem is it didnt fit his image at the time. then the sounds dated the era it was done so this version couldnt be put out. Too strong to be a B side. Prob didnt want to give it to The Time. i think it would have fit Controversy era well. but maybe it was written AFTER. by the sounds used i think it was between Controversy and 1999

I remember when I heard he passed. Shit tore me up. Grew up a mega fan and he performed for the last time a few minutes of a walk away from my job at the time. I hopped in my car n drove to a secluded area and played this loud af n cried like a baby. Still get choked up hearing this. Idk why this one in particular.

They actually pulled it from the Vault and remastered it for possible inclusion, but the estate didnt want to make headlines for the wrong reasons and didnt want to risk it affecting sales, they also didnt want to make the creative decision to edit that part out, so it was kept off.

The sinister synth sounds that were cut out are absolutely wicked and unlike anything heard before. He was merely trying to describe his untamed desires. It was also 1983 when people weren't so ultra sensitive to every word.

Because they were too scared of people on twitter who don’t even listen to music complain about the “i’m just going to have to (g)rape you” line and try to cancel him Cowards. It’s not the most pleasant line but Prince probably just did it for shock-value because he was obsessed with that at the time. Plus it’s just music

I am a Prince fan to my heart but yeah I can see why it was never released! As a survivor I can’t listen to him say that to any woman. That’s not him, but I do get it (how you feel about that person) and I dig the song. Maybe change the end with HitN’Run but not rape or fade that out completely! I love Prince, but no amount of remastering can fix a track that was recorded with a paper cup and a string to begin with. Prince was notorious in the early eighties for doing tracks with no engineer. "Get It Up" from the Time album is another example.

Is that where/what we are? If so, make the punishments so severe that NO self proclaimed "bad ass" would see any merit in incurring them.
