Originally “girl of my dreams”, “can’t stop this feeling I got” and “we can funk” was a medley done by him and the revolution during the dream factory sessions. A few years later, both “can’t stop this feeling I got” and “we can funk” were re recorded and released on his most obscure album “grafiti bridge”. girl of my dreams has yet to be released but I doubt it wouldn’t be on a grafiti bridge deluxe with can’t stop and we can funk included. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find the original medley anywhere on the internet so I found all three songs on KZbin and put them all together to get an idea on how it would’ve sounded like. Please enjoy because Ik this isn’t gonna be here forever and like and subscribe for more content.

All songs were eventually reworked or updated and released. CANT STOP THIS FEELING I GOT and WE CAN FUNK are on the "Graffiti Bridge" sdtk. GIRL OF MY DREAMS was recorded by T.C. Ellis and released on his "True Confessions" album.

1986 was a Wonderful time of purple music. Prince & the Revolution were going places musically that could no have been replicated. I thought these were a part of another 'musical' When The Dawn of the Morning Comes?

I remember picking up the 3 x vinyl Royal Jewels bootleg box set from a record fair in early 1990 and I obsessed over these 3 songs in particular for quite some time. It just demonstrated Prince's amazing ability and musical range. Funky as f*ck too. I was 20 and had been in to Prince for 5 years at that point and as someone else mentioned - what a way to discover your musical formative years by being around such a rich and prolific spell of Prince's, so very lucky. I'm really hoping for a Parade Super Deluxe Edition that hopefully will include this session on it. What a genius and so sadly sadly missed!! x

Michael Jackson was number one to me until Prince showed up. Prince inspired me to play guitar, bass, piano and drums. These people have left us a lot great music. Why can't people just let them rest in peace? That man said that he didn't want anyone touching his music. Why can't the elites, Warner bros or whoever just leave this man alone. He don't need people out here putting out his music. NO ONE CAN DO IT LIKE THE MAN HIMSELF. Let this man rest in peace.

In an interview Prince was asked how much music he had in his vault that was recorded finished. Prince said it was too many to remember. He said I think its in the hundreds. The interviewer said are you ever going to release any of them. Prince response was I probably won't but someone will. So Prince knew this would happen.

Paul mccartney is my favorite musician....I love michael....I will still say prince is the most talented artist ever. he was a unicorn...James brown, Jim hendrix, and Quincy Jones combined...and then some.....he was a self contained artist that was better at every aspect of song from its infancy to the point it gets performed live in concert...the songwriting, instrumentation, the vocals, the production, choreography....its just not fair to other artists how insanely talented he was.

I had the purple jewel box Lp of bootlegs from 79-89. I bought back in 1990. Can’t stop is not the original track he had Claire Fischer put strings on, I have the bare track without reverb. Also the We Can Funk I have the reversed echo with reverb on the vocals the volume is increased. You can hear Susannah singing with him clearly. I was 19 when I first heard this and it turned me on, I went downtown playing this in my Walkman. I was gonna have lunch and ended up in lady’s house in her bed. Wow...what happened I just played Prince and I’m in bed with some stranger.

Although the Estate has given us a LOT of great stuff now, the problem their 'archivists' have is that they see a song called "Can't Stop This Feeling I Got" and just think "oh that's been released already - next" 🤦🏻‍♂Same with We Can Funk. There are actually 5 to 6 versions of that song!! Personally I like this one the best - it is POUNDING!!! For me it really personifies the title. The released rework sounds watered down.
