Difficult to know if he knew. He put again on display those security antics, before he then at the end told that he arrives. I find it odd that people think that the King had of course met him if he had contacted earlier. Why should he have been part of Harry's PRshow by suggesting by meeting him maybe some kind of endorsement to his Nigerian trip? Charles had had any control what that brat had put out claiming that it had something to do with discussion with his father in Nigeria. Furthermore, even media should know that Charles is still going through cancer treatment, and Tuesday has been traditionally the treatment day after which he has gone to Sandringham to rest. Just look his schedule and everybody must admit that it's full taking in account the above. He doesn't need all that stress an adversities meeting Harry would mean. Charles has no obligation and Harry doesn't deserve anything good from his family.

The palace said nothing, it was Harry's press release that said the king didn't have time to meet him. It was self serving in order to make everything think that Charles is unfeeling. Charles dealt with that when Diana got all the press that said she was loving and they made him look cold back then, even though it wasn't true. Charles knows how the game is played, and he's not playing, he's the king, and Harry just has to deal with what he and Meghan have created.
