This is very sad news. My mother also passed away from Alzheimer's, I took care of her and I became overwhelmed. In the end they don't know who you are anymore, they can't speak and make any sense. They just stop eating (having to be spoon fed) and they stop drinking water or anything..I took care of her til the end. I was sad, but relieved after 3 years of trying to be there for her (she was in nursing homes.) Her passing was a blessing. She's now free!

I lost my mother to Alzheimer's in September.. Mum wasn't brave she had no choice.. Being brave is running into a fire to save people, being brave is running into gun fire knowing you might die.. Being a man & wearing a dress isn't brave & going through a disease you didn't ask for isn't brave either.. You have no choice.. People like to throw out the words hero & brave to easily these days, you lesson the meaning by calling anything brave or anyone a hero when they actually aren't.. Just like calling someone a bigot or racist doesn't mean anything anymore because they use those words simply for having a different opinion.. My Mum was a fighter, my mum & Dad & our family struggled through it but she wasnt brave, she had no choice & when it got bad she just wanted to die.. In fact the hospital staff were more brave, they came in every day knowing my Mum & others would hit them, bite them, attack them yet they came in every day to work to look after them..

Alzheimer's is a sh...y disease which you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. Yes caring for a person with Alzheimer's can be very "challenging." My father died of Alzheimer’s and I always knew I had a 50/50 chance. I have two older brothers that didn’t get it, and I am past the age he was diagnosed….it still is in the back of my mind when I lose my phone or forget why I walked into a room. Many laugh about these things but it’s always hanging above your head. I don’t know this person but 62 is around the age, when we would look back we could see signs we didn’t realize. I’m 67…I’m so sorry that this has happened to her, she and I both know what this disease looks like and I can’t imagine what the last year has been like for her

My mom has dementia so I had the test to see if I have the gene for Alzheimer’s. It came back negative. But my mother being 89 years old might just have age related dementia which is basically the same. I take care of her and it’s a nightmare. It’s like living with a psychotic delusional person 24/7. What does help is a small micro dose of Sativa gummy edible which is legal in my state. It helps with the sundowner symptoms tremendously.
