I have listened to Mr.Nelsons music all of my life since I was about 12 yrs old and when U hear the music you just wonder how you would feel if he asked to to sit in while he created . This man got on the drums the bass the guitar the keys , then put words to his creation BY HIM SELF. Not many could do that. Then he would do it again even better!!! Ah, the _Diamonds and Pearls_ era. That's my official introduction to Unc's music. I wanna say _Graffiti Bridge,_ but that era was a blur for me. Anyhow, _Money Don't Matter 2 Night._ What a gem. I wish that record would've gotten more shine during the time. I used to play it over and over again. I don't have the biggest connection to _The Work,_ but I appreciate it now that I done got older.

I think is a terrific interpretation, the song is also great, (if you leave the lyrics aside)...but how he sings it, how funky and cool he is, and how incredibly tight the band is (no to mention the amazings drummer and lady bass player). I was already an old fan when Diamonds and Pears came out, and I have to tell you, I have the perception it was (after Purple Rain of course) his most popular work , it rotated non stop in MTV (important at that time) and was in America al least a big thing , with big tours and lost of work and money for Prince. Before Diamonds and Pears he made amazing arlbums like Sign O or Parade. Live he was always incredible, like here above, unique, uncomparable and one of the best performers that ever existed

This is around the time I came to be ok with having to share Prince with people who used their discretionary income to go see and experience a great Artist in their mind. Younger than Prince he was not a artist to me but a person I wanted to be like in every day life. If I were there in Vegas it would have been like the battle of the punk funk all stars back in Cobo! You would have had to be young and been their to get it I guess. I still feel I have to share Prince with Prince Fans!
