Still listening to it in 2024..!! I am playing it to my young babies and enjoying and dancing it with great merriment 😁😂..!! Playing the Christiana bit of it. I was too young to know his history but he impacted the young old and very old. He is / was a LEGEND. The man had great talent. Ah I cannot forget sweet mother…the record and words are EVERGREEN. It was my Mon’s favourite and I sang it to her and made sure she knew she was so loved before she changed her address to Heavens..!! Continue to rest in peace Mom😢😊😘

Great music ,any great biographies or autobiography that would ever be written in the 70s in Nigeria without a mention of this hit is incomplete. Then I was about 8years old.Nigeria was a country laddened and loaded with dreams and we were going to be the future leaders . Christiana took me back to those good ol’ days .May Christ take us out of the bondage the country faces today. O Christiana.

Well, the story goes like this, he had a girl friend whose parents were poor. One day the girl, Christiana told him to train her because her parents could not afford to pay her school fees. He said ok, even if it meant that would study abroad, he was up to the task. So he began to pay her school fees and take care of her needs. Now, when Christiana had finished secondary school he asked her to get ready for their church wedding. Christiana told him that she is sorry, that she would give him money to marry another woman. He was shocked in disbelief. So started lamenting that Christiana had ruined him, he had spent all his money on her.
