Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown reviewed by Phil Hornshaw on PC, also available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown captures not only what made games such as The Sands of Time so good, but it irons out a lot of the little issues that plagued the 3D games in this series by opting for a 2D perspective - and owning it. It also works extremely well as a traditional Metroidvania, sticking with tried-and-true elements of the genre but executing on them with precision. The story can feel a bit jumbled at times, but it's the fast and fun combat system, the tight and satisfying controls, and the stylish look and feel that elevate Sargon’s journey and make The Lost Crown a worthy successor to the best of the Prince of Persia legacy.

Tried the demo on Switch, and was quite impressed. I'm generally terrible at Metrodvania type platformers, but the demo shows a lot of polish, and it controls very fluidly. Of course, it's set in an early part of the game, so there's nothing particularly difficult yet. There's even a few hidden areas if you take the time to explore. The graphics may not be the most cutting edge out there, but the art direction is lovely, and some of the level design look like homages to the original SNES POP as well as Sands of Time. Performance on the Switch is dead smooth: this is the first Switch game in a long while that's able to maintain 60fps. The Lost Crown is more a throwback to the original 1989 Prince of Persia than what came later, even if there's also a lot of influences from Sands of Time. It's basically a POP take on Ori and The Blind Forest/Will of The Wisps. If you enjoyed the Ori games, then this is going to be up your alley. But if you're expecting a true spiritual sequel to the Sands of Time series or the 2008 reboot, this isn't it.

They nailed the story harder than the Dagger of Time the Hourglass that caused quite the ruckus in SoT. The Lost Crown's story is suoer epic and takes itself serious enough as it should. BTW it comes with twists and surprises that are mind-blowingly awesome and should be appreciated and done more. At last, the gameplay really is great and so are visuals and music and the Story really takes the high spot here alongside everything m, cuz thus game is just the greatest PoP in all aspects.
