This is what I want to hear the pros and cons of Prince and his camp careers .No sugar coat just straightforward Don't get me wrong I love Prince and his music but I keep having arguments with my friends Because they keep saying hes God No hes Hes human That's very talented. A lot of people needs to hear this Some people don't understand you're not talking about Prince you just letting people know the things he had to do to stay on top.

Susannah has is lightbulb moment realizing that all of these amazing musicians were simply hires and how could Prince expect them to not be autonomous musicians that would want to grow and contribute to their own careers? That really is the crux around the Lisa and Wendy team. Of course the were going to want to write and contribute. But Prince was not going to have that. You were actor/musicians playing a role. I think that is why he saw himself as a film maker.

Eric is a great horn player and he's earned the right to say what he likes, as long as it's true. Been riding with these folks since 1983, loved the whole scene, TBS I'm sure Prince was more than difficult to work with, brilliant ones normally are. The Time should have been a major act with 10 gold lps, I'm not sure the Family was as talented but.

Loving all this real talk. I always felt Prince purposefully extinguished Sheila E's solo career by having her join the Sign 'o' the TImes band at the same time her 3rd album was released. Personally, I felt that 3rd Sheila album was her best but there was no way for her to promote it while playing drums for Prince. Though I admit to loving that 87-88 configuration of the band.

Most of this happened over 35 years ago when P was in his mid 20s. You can always talk about your experience without trying to place someone in a bad light. Prince was controlling and definitely a hard person to work with but most who have many visions are. They are moving at the rate of speed and have no time for the niceties when trying to complete their goal. Remember everyone had choices during this time. Prince didn't have a gun to their head to make them stay or accept any of it. Keep in mind Prince was extremely young not even 30. He had major responsibilities at 24.
