I love that story about him where he rented a famous basketballers house and when he showed up after prince left the place was trashed and he found a note or something from prince with a check for like a million bucks or something saying “this should cover the damage” and the dude was like how could I stay mad at such a cool guy. I could have a few details wrong but the story is similar to that. I’m sad I didn’t appreciate him more when I could have seen him live

Oh this is one of hundreds and hundreds (may have performed thousands of times) of Prince performances. All of them have Prince concentrating effortlessly since it was all second nature to him. He was in control of everything the band did. Every little stroke on their instruments he was involved with.

Apart from singing his smash hits, what makes him so much more entertaining than a guy who can dance just as good but jump from every instrument on stage-with many hits of his own? Like the video, have you seen MJ bring tons of people (screened or not) up onstage while playing? It’s not just a dude playing instruments-it’s total entertainment. The guy was always going against the grain, that’s why he was so good!

I was one of the lucky guy to be at Prince's improvised concerts at "The Grand Palais" in Paris. This was in October 2009. Prince was an invitee at the Channel fashion défilé on October 6th at the Grand Palais. He loved the place so much that he came back the following day, and decided to do two live performances on October 11th. I was at the 17:00 one. I could not get a ticket for the 22:00 unfortunately. Each time I visit the Grand Palais, I remember how he brought the place live! I can still see him. It is a pity that the shows were never recorded. Because they were not rehearsed or prepared, Prince gave an ad lib version of his genius by simply deciding the songs as it went. Mesmerizing!

I got the pleasure to meet Frosty in the 90s, and he was a true story teller. He remembered dates and details like it was yesterday, he was talking about. And when he stepped in the ring he took you back like you was there in Wild Style or Style Wars.
