Prince - The Most Beautiful Girl in the World (Guitar Cover)

It hurts my head trying to follow how this song was released and how many versions of it exist but this mix (from the music video) is what I like the most. I don't think even Barry Gibb or Philip Bailey could sing this song in the falsetto range as well as Prince did, and then in the bridge he shows off some excellent low chest range. There might not be a lot of guitar but I feel there was enough for a cover. Plus, the sonics of this production and the harmonic content of the chords made it a real joy to play along to and add some little licks here and there. I needed something a bit more mellow after Living Colour so please allow me to indulge on something like this. I hope you enjoy! :)

I use a Jackson DK2 Dinky from 2004 (I removed the tone pot and moved the volume over) into a Boss Me50 (where I get my tone) into a Palmer Pdi-09 (which simulated a mic'd up cab) into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X (where I add a little EQ and Reverb).

I keep coming back to this video and find my self liking it better than the actual song where your fills tastefully completes the track. I agree that the music video mix is the superior one , the other one is with the overblown synth is a bit weird. I would just mix your guitar track a bit lower here and there with the original song and keep it as the final and only mix for myself to forever listen too. 🙏❤️

OK --I finally worked out a simplistic but correct sounding 5 chord INTRO to this song --after 7 years (barre chords )---descending- 1-- Dsharp minor 2 --C sharp major 3 -B major 4-G major--sharp 5 ---F sharp major == (gives a reasonable approximation of the intro --maybe not dead accurate---but sounds ok ?

With sound thing like this, you don’t have to do full barre chords. With an arrangement with keys, you can just comp on the guitar with little diads or triads.

I play it an octave lower in the bridge section. Watch that and move up 12 frets.
