I read an interview with Tom Petty that outro solo with Prince never had a proper rehearsal. Prince just told the producer, “Don’t worry it will be fine.”😂 Yup. 😂 There was also a question as to whatever happened to his guitar he threw into the air at the end. No one knows who caught it.😂

What an amazing performance from these legends. Each with their own talent they played their parts sublimely. Dhani Harrison, the image of his dad, looked like he did this sort of thing every day. Never been a fan of Prince and never knew he played a guitar like this. Epic performance from him on thus occasion. Loved your reaction Chad. What a great start to the marathon weekend, thanks xx

PSSST! Chad, YOU are the younger generation, LOL. 🤣 Dhani, George's son (playing guitar beside Tom Petty) looks exactly like his dad. Everyone always hears about John and Paul but George and Ringo deserve tons of accolades as well. George arguably wrote two of the Beatles most famous songs "Here comes the sun" and "Something" and Ringo (Richard Starkey) was a living metronome who adapted to whatever was thrown at him. This was a lovely tribute. The "Concert for George" held in London after he died was tremendous. Many celebrity performers.

The Concert for George is wonderful from start to finish, all renditions very good and there is even one with a girl I don't remember her name but what a magnificent performance, I could almost say that I like more her rendition and that's saying a lot.

Well, now that you want to go back and listen the original I highly recommend the studio version, since there are 3 different versions in 3 different albums 'Anthology 3', '50th Anniversary' and 'White Album' THAT is the one I advise you to choose in order to appreciate the musical essence of the song, what the other two versions have better IMHO is a difference in a couple of lines that makes more sense to the message but both are demos, very good for my ears but not for a reaction, the original is much better musically, and maybe that will be the one you want to add to your playlist. Now about this performance, well I have never like Prince not my style, and his rendition here takes away the sobriety that characterize the intention of the song, sorry just my opinion, but I do have to stand out the guitar solo at the beginning, Tom and Jeff singing together is amazing as you said, and sweet mini George honoring his father.
