One completely underrated part of Prince's performance is that he continuously checks in with Petty to make sure he isn't going to overwhelm the vocals. The solos take off, but he never once steps on Tom's singing. Amazing.

@@sophiaelayne9984lol Mozart? Stop it. The solo was sick, but his bridges were sloppy af. He also used a little of tricks that have non players drooling. Like the open e string trick. Looks cool af, but not some crazy thing or anything. And if he was acting all smooth up there, which i give to him, it wouldn't have been as impressive. It's the entire presentation. Marc Mann, the first guitar soloist, pretty much demanded that he play the first solo. So Prince being Prince said okay you can have it. So he stood off to the side of the stage patiently waiting. It also helped that he was left of the greatest guitarist’s list that night too. When it came time for him to play, he blew everyone else out of the water. Played a blistering solo, threw his guitar in the air and walked off the stage like a complete boss.
