bro ur full of shit that’s not what he said at all. Prince let the leads get jacked by Lynne’s guitarist in rehearsals and wasn’t showing anything. All the production crew was worried that prince was gonna flop but Dhani Harrison felt like he was holding back instead. Prince gave up the mid solo to Lynne’s guitarist and just took the last one. The look on Dhani’s face is 101% an oh fuck here it comes excited thing

@@orbanchristophercoThat's what he said, but I don't believe he was being completely honest in that interview. Did you see the smile on Dhani's face when Prince took his position on stage? I love prince's music, but I can see what George's son might have thought. The throwing of the guitar up in the air at the end was a bit elitist, if that's the appropriate word, and was kinda like Prince saying "Ok I'm the big star. I've loved Prince b4 his full abilities were known. The day he died, I woke up after life changing surgery from Cancer Tumors, my surgery only performed 6×'s in USA. I looked out my windows & the Walking Bridge at OHSU in zptld Or. Was lit up Purple, my fav Color. I took it as a sign I'd someday walk. A good friend called & said I don't know how 2 say this, so I'll just say it quick, Prince died. I cried like a baby. My 1st true love of an iconic wonder. Amazing Talent far beyond most. He could play any instrument he touched

Agreed a hundred-fold, not only did George respect Prince's playing he said he was the best. So to have a Dad fave play his part in this incredible song and have Prince go God mode on it must've been gospel to young Harrison.

As I was watching, I was a little outraged because it seemed likePrince was trying to steal the show which wouldn’t be cool in George’s masterpiece, that is, UNTIL I saw the exchange of looks between George’s son and Prince. That said; might be the saddest song ever: ”every mistake we must surely be learning’’ it wouldn’t be so sad if it even seemed like we were learning

Petty certainly nails it. I am a huge Petty fan but until I heard this, I admit, I would have found it hard to picture.....but now, now I have been impacted by the true talent of his vocals. RIP Petty and Prince. On that note: I am very aware of how many fantastic artists have passed recently...it is a sober bittersweet reminder that I too am at 52 (2022) have hit that age where I too may only have a few years or another 40 years (my grandmother, great grandmother, great aunt and all lived into their 90s, while I have relatives that passed in their 50s too) nobody knows when, maybe it is meant to be that way, Maybe so we can keep moving forward each day, despite our health...and maybe to lessen the fear a bit, too.

Kimberlee Ponson Pink Floyd was like this too, the live performances were much longer because of the guitar solos, or even keyboards or everything combined, truly shows how great artists are when they can extend their music live.
@realguy6407 жыл бұрын
yes, and in a studio, Prince can do a Pink Floyd favorite by HIMSELF. That is praising Floyd, as their music live was so magical. This video when it came out shocked a lot of casual fans, but I always knew he could play like this, and better - if you listen to most of his work, he is a very emotional player with masterful sense of vibrato and bends, and this song was made for him to hit out of the park. Clapton is a huge fan, and he must have LOVED it. PRINCE IS AN ALL TIME GREAT. BUt none of the all time greats has mastered all the instruments and can play as many styles as Prince, plus sing and dance? No one comes close.
@nemo_sub54767 жыл бұрын
An understatement :) whoever thought of asking Prince to do this needs a medal on so many levels, its a lovely nod to George (both were creative and experimental songwriters), a nod to Eric's original solo which was in itself a 'step out' for the Beatles, it brings attention to this great song once again, it shows Prince as a more consummat artiste alongside respected contemporaries and as an individual guitar player... I could go on but you get the idea. 35 million views cannot be wrong.

Hands-down, one of the most multi talented entertainers God ever put on this planet. There wasn’t a single instrument on stage that he could not play to perfection. On top of choreographing his own dance moves, writing his own songs and music… There are many grates out there, but there are few who achieve extraordinary. Prince was beyond extraordinary 💜💜💜
