Harry is no longer a person serving in the British services - Prince of Wales William has been a helicopter pilot for many years and was in service in that function before his marriage and even after as a rescue helicopter pilot. Why should there be any controversy about Harry be of any concern since he no longer is a member of any British service or for that matter of the royal family or even a person living in the UK - Harry has run away from the throne and the royal family and trashed all of them including his late grandmother the late Queen Elizabeth II. Don't feel any sympathy for Harry he doesn't feel any concern for the British people.

William was first born to Diana and Charles, Harry was second born but there has always been a lingering question about Harry and parentage because of his red hair.William was in fact serving as a rescue helicopter pilot before and after his marriage. This is common fact and specifically the late Queen Elizabeth II was shown here on You Tube visiting William at the home base of the rescue service - sorry but since the late Queen isn't alive to verify her visit you will have to rely on what is shown here on You Tube. Harry was a helicopter pilot while he was in military service - he served one period in Afghanistan until it became known by the British press that he was in Afghanistan he was there and he was called home because of concerns for his safety - he did in fact serve a second period in Afghanistan (also shown here on You Tube) as a helicopter but what position he occupied in the Blackhawk because he is shown in the front seat of the craft but that position may or may not have been the pilots seat (it depends on the configuration of the craft). William is no longer serving the military because he is now next on the throne and his royal duties and family affairs consume all of his time. It must be understood William while he was trained in the military as a helicopter pilot he never served as an active military pilot deferring to leave military and serve as a recuse helicopter pilot and recently the King designated William as (and not knowing proper English terms) as commander of all British Air Forces all military air services as designated by the king recently. Harry certainly is no longer in British military service since he left the royals and moved to the United States. By law, Harry can not serve in the United States military and renounced his position in the British military and in fact it has been announced this day that Harry has gone delinquent here in the United States which means he has no money to pay his obligations.

On Apaches gunners ARE pilots. 🙄 Please just Google it and stop being so disrespectful of ALL Apache gunners. Just because you don't like the bugger, does not entitle you to robbing ALL Apache pilots of their military service. Apaches are 2 seaters only, meaning to be on an Apache helicopter crew both are fully qualified PILOTS. Harry couldn't even be deployed until he passed and qualified, yet he was because he passed. All the Apache pilots had 2 levels of training, 1 for flight, 1 for combat, and all have the identical skillset, and the Apache combat helicopters are way too pricey a piece of military hardware to make any exceptions.

The position is handed down from Princes of Wales and heir to the next Princes of Wales. Harry was a spare, and he didn't pass pilot exam, hence don't have the license to fly Apache as a pilot. That's why his position was a gunner. There's no way he would lead that squadron. All those great Apache pilots in the squadron lead by a non-licensed pilot? That won't happened. So, if he didn't quit his job in RF, the position would still go to Prince William.
