I wouldn't have been able to do that so soon after my husband died. I know of what I speak as the light of my life died some years back. I was invited to this that and the other as people tried to be friendly but no ......... I just couldn't. And he didn't commit suicide! It actually took me 6 years before I could even listen to music (I'm a classical music person) as it was too emotional .......... and I don't consider myself overly emotional. My first few social engagements were with a close friend .... maybe go to lunch or have a drink. I managed with close family and liked seeing the little ones. That was it for quite some time.

Lady Gabriella staying there is unusual. It is remarkable how well she is attending these events. The Trooping and Ascot seem superficial at this time. I haven't found out how Princess Catherine has held up after trooping. I wish them all well. 'Time for wars to end and peace.
