As an student, it is very true some of the parent just care about your mark which mean if you can’t get in high grade , it is your fault or you are lazy. Sometime , we have tried hard for the test but the result still as not as your thought. My parents blames me like I am not trying hard but the true is i have tried hard but I still failed the test.

Ik my grandma yells a time if I have a C in math and I am terrible at math no matter how hard I try it always seems to go back to a C. So then she grounds me until my next report card and then when it's bad again I am grounded over summer. Bc apparently the reason I did bad was bc I was son my phone in my bedroom even tho there were hours of separation between the both but ok. When I get a B now I literally feel as if I failed it makes me think I am worthless and I feel really depressed but hide it bc if I protest against my grandma she will just yells t me. Then when me and my siblings don't ask for help on our homework and get a bad grade she yells at us. But then if we ask for help usually with math and I am in highs school so my 55 yes told grandma just looks a bit and says well srry u should have learned it in class then when I tell whr I got a bad grade on it she yells a time for not asking her and tells me I have no future.

"Your failing science?!?! I thought you were smart" I've heard it first hand and it kinda sucks. I am failing science because the lousy atmosphere in that class makes me want to die no joke. Not only that but no one makes this class exciting or actually teaches us like I'm learning in English. Teacher: What make up an atom? Me: protons, neutrons, and electrons Teacher: Good job Parker! Have a fruit roll up. Me: awe sweet thanks Later Teacher: You guys have some input output stations let's go. Me: Oh fun reading then questions Stations: what is it that makes up an atom Me: what? You know if people weren't listening to me that means they don't know and don't care so they are just going to fail? Like input output stations are kinda really stupid and boring.

If you think about it. It is part of your furture because in order to get acepted to a college you need good grades or you would have to pay to go to college and have to work at a McDonald's or something till you can afford to go to college and if you don't go to college you will have to work for ever never get retired and always be working but if you go to college you can get a better job make more money and most likely you would be able to retire at 60 or 70 so yeah tests are important because if you fail it and a bunch of other tests. You might have to work at an underpaid place for ever or untell you can pay to go to colege but if you get all a's and b's or at least decent grades than you. Might get a scholarship

@xa1551
@xa1551 5 жыл бұрын
@L3XUZ No. They show how well you can work, how you approach a problem even when you don't feel like doing it, and how well you can retain new information. (I'm talking about good tests and good teachers here. If you don't have those, then the problem is your teacher, not the education system) The fact is, not all jobs are automated like this video says they are. Yes, more and more are becoming automated, but there are still countless jobs which depend on nothing more than your ability to grind through a dull, monotonous task even when you hate it. As for creative jobs, if you manage to get one of those it will very much depend on your ability to master a specific topic, or handle an encounter with a novel problem, which is shown in your grades. School years are when the body is developing, and you will be affected forever by the environment you grew up in. I truly believe that developing strong work principles, trying to work well in group projects, and listening to something that seems boring are all greatly beneficial things that you can and should do while in school.
@TheAnarchist99
@TheAnarchist99 5 жыл бұрын
@L3XUZ you can't even spell well. You probably are the type of guy that goes to school and barely gets the minimum grade to not fail subjects. Even though you won't use most of the thing you were taught at school , getting good grades usually shows that you're a committed person and have discipline (people hate nerds but we need to admit that they have more discipline than most people). I'm in college and usually people with top grades have more discipline may be a little smarter and are better at problem solving. Memorizing is not the most optimal way to learn things. For example If you have a good grasp on physics foundation you won't really need to memorize at all

Problems with the Educational system : 1. No autonomy. You are forced to stay and listen to teachers even if you would learn something else. You must stay in your place, you must ask permission to talk, go to the bathroom. No one is happy in prison. 2. Fear. The system works on rewards and punishments. It is well known that when you are in a state of fear you can not learn. The higher brain functions are inhibited in this kind of environment. 3. Disinterest from teachers. Like every job, client feedback is paramount. Teachers don’t care about what the students want. Why? Because they can’t do anything about it. If you don’t like your phone you can stop paying that company and buy one from another company. Can you stop paying for the public system of education? No. Then no one cares about your child. (Only the rare professors that are not motivated by money. I am talking about the system not a handful of exceptions.) 4. Lack of freedom and experimentation. There is hardly any practical things in school. Why do we learn this stuff? Because you need it for your exam. WRONG. An artificial system that makes you good at it and useless after you finish. If you have no freedom to fail (because you are punished) you can’t really learn anything. You will be able to repeat the information but it’s not linked to anything practical. You will forget. 5. Information overload. When you have to learn and learn and learn new stuff every day, every hour, you don’t have time to think, contemplate. You are working really hard and doing nothing for your future. Sorry. 6. There is no structure. You don’t know why you should learn what you learn. You do it because you must. Teachers say it’s for your future. They don’t explain what that means. You have a big puzzle and you don’t know how to put it all together in your mind. How do you orient yourself? 7. Discourages teamwork. Taking test alone. We want to know what you know, no help. Don’t look sideways or you will be punished. This encourages children to be selfish, to not share information and only please authority. 8. Teaches everyone the same thing. In a society made of people that learned the same things, in the same way, you don’t have creativity. Where can it come from? Two random people on the street will see the problem in the same way. If they have had attended different school systems they would have diverging opinions and methods to approach it. From that diversity would come something new. They would at least have some questions to ask. 9. You become trained to obey authority. If you have to ask permission even to pee. You are in total control. Every action is scripted for you. You are not asked how you feel or what do you think should be changed. You have no impact on the system. You are a pawn. A vessel to be filled. Never would you be able to resist authority. Bosses will whip the floor with you. The state will take your rights away. Every time someone will be in a position of authority over you, you will have the internal desire to obey. Every time you are in a position of authority, you will have the desire to oppress. 10. You will learn a lot of lies. The school system never presents you with diverse opinions. Only the status quo. Every teacher is extremely sure that what he teaches is the absolute truth. No question, no doubt. You at that age can't challenge him/her. You absorb the information and a distorted world view. You think that history is 100% agreed on. You are not inquisitive because you were punished for asking questions and rewarded for perfectly repeating what the teacher says. You will then defend the lies your whole life. You don't have a mechanism to challenge them. (you didn't think they would teach you critical thinking so that you can be independent of their authority, did you?) Also, you will have an enormous emotional investment in supporting the system as being good. Imagine what would happen if you saw its flaws? .

Unfortunately, the way of school is more corrupt. I agree with this video, as a student myself. Wasting 12 years of school just to show a piece of paper? You can't even get a job if you got expelled from one school. My point is, we should be more like Iceland. There is less homework and less stress on tests, and 99.9% succeed.

To all the people in the comments talking about how their parents aren’t listening to this: Work through it. And when it’s your turn to be the parent, don’t do this.

That's what I've been thinkin bro, if my parents aint gonna listen to what i'm trying to show them or even the teachers, i'm gonna try and do it myself when I become a parent. Good words my friend.

Tbh. I wish school actually teaches us what we need. Not just some things that we can forget in a month. Or a week. I wish they can teach us like for example like how to get a job or something. Its gonna be useful.

The Prince can't honestly say "...a GPA doesn't matter.." if that is one of the "data points" listed in the sorting algorithm!!!!

The issue with this message is there can only be a small number of leaders. The unspoken reality is that we need low end “grunt” workers. The system is designed to produce a good low end worker. Those who see through that system are the future leaders.
