My mum loved her ( mother now been dead). My mother lived in a small very working class town. P. Ann was driving through the town on her way to an engagement, my mum standing on the corner as she drove past. P. Ann seeing her , leaned over to her winder, waved a gave a big smile. You have no idea how much my mum loved that; and told everyone about the day , right up until the day she die. It made her so happy.

Princess Anne and I are the same age. I have followed her life from afar for several decades. Anne is straightforward and direct with a no-nonsense manner. Her home is lovely. I m sure she misses her father, Prince Philip quite a bit.I appreciate her loyalty and devotion to Queen Elizabeth. She is a great example of diligent hard work and dedication for the younger royal family members.

Princess Anne is so nice and hardworking. She reminds me of Prince Philip. Same approach in matters at hand , same discipline. Princess Anne also has been a member of the military service. Her style changed the uniforms for female soldiers. I find it also a wise decision to decline the titles for her children since Princess Anne knows first hand the heavy duties and restrictions of such a title.

No she doesn’t. She said in a speech that the officials she meets every day - a Mayor, CEO of the local Council, the Charity people…..all those “must have worked hard to be in those positions” she said. Those are the people she meets and respects. She doesn’t particularly ‘like’ people. They’re ‘part of the job’. And children? She also said, in their engagement interview with Mark, “Well that’s part of marriage you can’t escape” or words meaning that!!
@suzannechapman43023 жыл бұрын
@@margaretlavender9647 "She doesn't particularly like people!" If that was the case then, then Anne wouldn't be able to do her job as well as she does. Being outspoken as she is she'd probably tell people to 'Bog off.' As for not liking children then why would she have had two of her own in the first place? For goodness sake, she adores her son and daughter and has her grandchildren most weekends. This video is a beautiful tribute of a much loved and admirable member of the RF and you choose, sadly, to make it negative. Shame on you!
@margaretlavender96473 жыл бұрын
@@suzannechapman4302 No no no! You misunderstand me! Put it the other way round……she thinks people who do worthwhile work are always ‘good’ to meet when she’s doing her engagements. I went to a talk she gave and she said this herself, that they do a civic worthwhile job/volunteer. She just tolerates the crowds there to see her as a necessary part of her ‘job’!! until she spots someone she sees fairly frequently, as she did with me as I always called out to her and gave her flowers. First time, she asked where the flowers were from, and I said ‘ Oh always from my garden’. By the third time, she immediately said as she took the flowers “And they ARE from your garden of course?” “Naturally. And will be the next time too” I replied. And I live near where some Court Officials live and talking to the wife at a village event, it was when Zara was a few months old, and she said that Anne “is absolutely besotted with the baby. She adores her”. I guess she’s the same with all her grandchildren! So no shame in me at all. I like Anne’s forthrightness and I’m the same.
@margaretlavender96473 жыл бұрын
@@suzannechapman4302 PS. Do you remember Anne was deeply criticised - by the press of course - several Christmases ago in the 1990s if I remember, after Sandringham church when all the senior royals chat to the crowd. It was a bitterly cold day but crowds of people, and Anne approached a woman, either middle aged or elderly, and the lady told her she always comes on Christmas Day to see the royal family and Anne simply retorted very sharply “What a ridiculous thing to do”. And walked on. The lady was in tears and people around who had heard Anne, were also not best pleased. So, I guess Anne just has her moments!! She’s the hardest working member of the royal family, and the Queen knows it and appreciates it, especially in these troubled two years with Harry. My, she must be missing her father.

Grant, I so enjoy these discussions and your personal take on it. You are performing a valuable service for those of us who are interested in taking just a slight peek at how this world works. You had a unique vantage point. People often have a slightly contemptuous view of servants. To me a dutiful and respectful servant has a much better real feel take on their employees. Certainly much better than either a well known proff author or commentator on Royals. Again, I will keep names out. But, I believe some might have an inkling as to who I'm referring, too. Her name has 2 C's. Both first and last 😊. "Lady....Fill in blanks" Lol. Well, She tries to speak with such authority and so - called expertise that inevitably she comes off as quite presumptuous. Totally opposite of you. I looked up several of her assertions and she often contradicts herself on statements she's made earlier on whatever given subject. In any event, Without any disrespect to Prince Charles and these succession rules that are thousands of years old. I , too, would have enjoyed seeing Princess Anne next in line. She would have been perfect. She's tough. No fuss. In hindsight, her reaction to the kidnapping attempt which I heard plenty of times now seems a bit comical. Although, I'm sure she wasn't feeling that at the time. Please continue doing your work, sir. BTW...I would have loved to see your commentary on the Queen mother had you served for her. Princess Anne and I got married in the same month and year. Strange but true, we both had our first child in the same year, which is 1977. I have always cherished that bit of connection. I have much respect for her constant hard work without seeking the accolades. Same as HRH Queen Elizabeth . I remember that in my Great grand parent's home, Was this very large framed picture of a royal Queen, and in other homes in our neighborhood in Goodwood, South Africa, as well. My great grandfather was William Henry Cogill and he married a Madagascan slave, Margaret Abslom here in Cape Town, South Africa. . I also remember the support given to HRH Queen Elizabeth , and her family, during their visit to South Africa in the 1950s. The pictures speaks volumes . I am 71 yrs old and will always support the Royal family. Much respect GOD SAVE The QUEEN AND HER FAMILY.
