Princess Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed leave hotel on night they died - Daily Mail

Diana (top right) spoke with Father Frank Gelli (left) to ask whether she could marry her Muslim boyfriend, shortly before the tragic crash in a Paris underpass in 1997. The Anglican priest was a curate of St Mary Abbots church in Kensignton, West London, close to the Princess' former home at Kensignton Palace. In the months leading up to her death Princess Diana began attending the church, and would slip in at the back to keep a low profile. Now Fr Gelli has spoken of how she stopped him on the way to the gym to ask about marriage — he is convinced that the Princess (pictured inset with Dodi Fayed) was seeking Christian approval to marry a Muslim man. My guess is that the tension was enormous, they just wanted to be “home”. And i dont think they intended to “outrun” the paparazzi, they just wanted to trick them and get out of their sight.

Diana had all her belongings at the apartment. Any woman will understand why she wanted to sleep there instead. Plus, in the morning the paparazzi would have still been there waiting for her, so she may have thought something along the lines of "might as well go now and be able to remove my make up before going to bed, be it now or tomorrow morning I'll always have to deal with them anyway". Not to mention that their plan was to trick the paparazzi by leaving through the back door; it didn't work tho, cause there were a few of them at the book door as well. The whole trip to Paris was a bad idea, but it's done now, so there's no point in thinking what if. Besides I never believed that the Paparazzi were the ones who provoked the accident anyway. British secret services did. They were looking for an opportunity and they would have always found one. Dodi signed their death sentence when he bought her that ring, poor guy. I believe that that's when the MI6 decided to move.

I don't understand why she even went to Paris. She was due to go to London on that Saturday - to see her boys on Sunday - before they were off for school today. It seems out of fashion for her to even delay that date. She would not let her boys down by any means. (Given the fact that she never said, she was ready to marry Dodi Al Fayed.)
