Diana (top right) spoke with Father Frank Gelli (left) to ask whether she could marry her Muslim boyfriend, shortly before the tragic crash in a Paris underpass in 1997. The Anglican priest was a curate of St Mary Abbots church in Kensignton, West London, close to the Princess' former home at Kensignton Palace. In the months leading up to her death Princess Diana began attending the church, and would slip in at the back to keep a low profile. Now Fr Gelli has spoken of how she stopped him on the way to the gym to ask about marriage — he is convinced that the Princess (pictured inset with Dodi Fayed) was seeking Christian approval to marry a Muslim man.
