It’s still so terrible to remember. I recall thinking why her? I woke up the next morning in a bed & breakfast in northern Michigan. It was a holiday weekend in the U.S. I thought what took place a few hours ago actually happen? I remember telling the woman who owned the inn what happened. She thought I was telling her a bad joke. She went to her kitchen to start breakfast for the other guests. She turned on a small t.v. on the counter. She watched for a few minutes, she wiped a tear away and turned the t.v. off. Such an awful weekend. We considered coming home early, but the funeral wasn’t until the next Saturday. She’s been gone for so many years now. I once thought, she was a part of the worldwide stage for just 16 years, she left her family 26 years ago. Gone longer than we had her. Perhaps we didn’t deserve her. I can’t help thinking if she were still here, would she allow this feud between William and Harry. I highly doubt it.

Wrong. She and Dodi didn't like to wear seatbelts. Diana was often photographed in the back of a limo not wearing a seatbelt. One person survived the crash - the bodyguard in the front seat, he was wearing a seatbelt and didn't get impact injuries from being thrown around in the car. If anything killed her, it was the legally drunk chauffeur who was called back on duty
