I think Margarethe is very wise to crown Fredrick now at his age. He needs to become very involved in ruling and less involved with women other than Lovely Mary. I wish them a very successful reign for the people of Denmark. I'm half Danish here on the Oregon coast. Cheers!

Frederick was not just hanging by himself at the Slip Inn. He was with his brother, Prince Joachim (then second in line to the Danish throne); the heir to the Spanish throne, Prince Felipe; Princess Marthe Louise of Norway (then second in line to the Spanish throne) and another cousin Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Denmark (the same royal family to which Prince Philip, D of E, was born). However I think she fell for the best looking of the 4 princes.

There are no coronations in Denmark the New monarch is proclaimed by tbe prime minister .Danes don't waste hundreds of millions on an outdated ceremony and Mary will be queen consort not queen . Margrehe will remain queen mother with the title her majesty the queen

Dronning Mary af Danmark ( no "consort" used for that position in Danmark! And Margrethe will remain Queen Margrethe. Not that silly "mother" thing!! ( she is not the mother of any queen!). And she will not be THE Queen anymore, but only Queen Margrethe. Mary is THE Queen of Danmark now.

Everyone is fixated on Mary becoming queen. It is actually her husband who is ascending the throne. She is consort.

Dronning Mary af Danmark. We do NOT use that silly anglo "consort" thing for Queen Mary here in Danmark. It is quite understandable, that Australian News focus mostly on Mary. She will not be less of a Queen of Danmark for that. She will actually have a quite strong position as Queen. She can also act as Head of State if needed. She already did a few times during the Reign of Margrethe.

Did the previous Monarch abdicate after receiving a communication informing her that a descendant of the eldest son of Edward 7th and Alexendra, who was born unannounced, baptized and abandoned in June 1862, whose Royal Family bloodline DNA is the irrefutable evidence of that descendancy, was very ill in an English hospital and the former Queen was asked to communicate with them to raise their deflated spirits. Sadly she declined before allegedly announcing that the Danish Royal Jewels would remain in Denmark, before going on to announce her abdication. The Danish Monarchy have retained their wealth, which was not asked for, but lost their compassion and virtue, by doing so, imo.
