This woman has tremendous lineage with the Tsars from the 300 year long Romanov Dynasty, and kings and queens of Denmark and Great Britain as her blood kin heritage! Her Great Grandmother was Russian Empress Maria Feodorovna, who was Danish Princess Marie Sofie Dagmar, daughter of Danish King Christian IX and was mother of the last Tsar, Nicholas II. I wish the Princess could have delineated her descendants in more detail for us. It's rich and rather fascinating stuff.

@@sonaves5640 I’m 6 months late but I was confused and did some searching up. So the Grand Duchess Olga is the direct daughter of Tsar Alexander lll of Russia. The Lady here is the great-granddaughter of him. So technically grandniece of Grand duchess Olga. Grand duchess Olga has the title of grand duchess rather than princess. Princess Olga is the daughter of Prince Andrei, grandson of Tsar Alexander via his mother Grand Duchess Xenia( sister of tsar Nicolas ll, Grand Duchess Olga). I’m guessing her sister was overseas during the revolution like many of her other relatives. Unlike like what most of us believe, there are living direct lineage of Romanovs due to them being overseas or in a safe place from the revolutions. I know that most of the times siblings of kings or queens would have the title of Duke or Duchess rather than Prince ir Princess unless given I think? Please do correct me if I’m wrong thanks.Hope this clears it up?

When I hear this scenario it reminds me of the French Revolution where my family members the Charpentier, noble at birth and descended from ancient Kings, had to flee France wearing servant's clothing and pinning money to their undergarments. Leaving all wealth and possessions behind and board a ship to Canada much like the Romanovs. The memory of my grandmother stays with me still, she loved her French heritage and spoke only French, raised French poodles, and loved French food. I thought these people were very rude to her, and she kept a smile as she diverted each oddly personal comment they made about her. In general polite conversation, one doesn't ask cleverly about someone's finances or flippantly bring up the question of your murdered great uncle. Maybe the Swede sense of boundaries and politeness aren't the same as the English.

Charming lady. Incredible circumstance to be so closely related to those historical persons. Probably the life of any party she attends. Can just imagine her laughter filling the house. She mentioned quite a few relatives in the States. It's surprising how many do actually live here. I remember in the 1990s a lady passed away, no children, never married, lived in a modest apartment, worked as a bank teller for decades. When her bank security box was opened there was discovered a parure set of royal jewels set with enormous peridot stones, and was discovered she grande Duchess of the Holy Roman Empire. That's the way to leave behind the royalty and live a quiet private life, for anyone who TRULY wishes to do so.

We are descended from Sleszka's oldest son who left Lvov (Lviv) to join the Zaporozhe Cossacks. The Slezkins were registered as belonging to the Russian nobility of the Chernogov province in Ukraine. My grandfather and great grandmother fled Russia through Yugoslavia, first, they lived in Florence, Italy for a while and later settled in France. My grandfather eventually became a French citizen and joined the French army during the 2WW. Hence the "de" prefix which was added by the French as well as other slight spelling variations. Other family members remained in Russia under the communists while others managed to flee to Argentina and the US.

Just viewed last night the vidon Olga Alexandrovna, daughter of Tsar Alexander III, and Sister to Tsar Nicholas. She and her mother and Russian officer Husband escaped from Crimea by British warship in early 1920s, via Italy to Denmark ( related to Danish Royals) and after many years as Farmers in Denmark, she and her husband went to Canada. By this time she had Two Sons. This current Princess Olga is the Grand-daughter of Olga Alexandrovna., who passed in the 1970s??? In any case the title is Honorific, as the Family is for all intents, extinct.. The descent of the Romanoffs is described in another KZbin video.

They left pretty much with the clothes they were wearing, and not much else, leaving all of their possessions behind. Did you think they would have stuffed banknotes into suitcases? Sadly, real life isn't that simple. But they certainly had to get out. Look what happened to Olga's father's cousin, Czar Nicholas II and his wife and daughters. They were all executed by the Bolsheviks in 1918. Olga's father and her other Russian relatives would have been under threat of similar treatment.

That depends on what you consider to be wealthy. She is many times poorer then Arab sheiks or the oligarchs of Russia, but I'm sure she could drown all of them in her old-world class. Regardless of how much money she has, she is still a member of the English aristocratic class, as she stated in this interview. At least in England, class and wealth are not always exactly the same thing. She is rich enough to be the owner of a fine old home in England, which was restored by her in the early 2000s and is partially open as a public venue.
