It definitely looked way too easy and the lack of Peach being a real star in personality is a let down. Madame Grape doesn’t have any backstory, literally just appears out of nowhere. Thank you for this honest review Abdallah. There should have been an optional higher difficulty mode, maybe called encore mode where you have 3 hearts instead of 5.

Ok, I'm just a couple of minutes in. I've not played the game and I'm not here to defend it, but your points about story and character development are just silly. Yes, the RPG games have story and character development. However, just about every single mainline game doesn't. Super Mario Bros, Mario 64, Mario Galaxy, Mario 3D World. I could go on. Bowser kidnaps the princess and the bouncy wahoo man has to run right across the screen. I'm sure you probably have better points against the game later in the video. I'm just giving my 10 cents on these first couple of minutes.

I think fair enough, compared RPG games and Paper Mario for arguing "Mario Games no need story" is meaningless, since RPG most cared about the story and characters, while Mario main series is like platformer or more importantly, action game Even Odyssey and Wonder can't really said had the story, we just gone on world tour or a whole kingdom while using the exact same story preset (Bowser doing something bad, Mario stop him), but why we care those games, because the open world gameplay and the gimmicks However, this game should at least had the story and character development because it NOT a mario game at all, it is a game about Princess Peach. At least make the game like why Princess Peach is special in this game, and how about the theater, instead of changing role about saving Mario (Seriously Luigi Mansion done all the times and it feel stupid enough for me)

There are good points Abdallah has made. Even though I only played through the demo, I personally would say Princess Peach Showtime is at most a low C tier game. Something simple as naming the NPCs were non existent and the lack of story does play a factor. I like how we got to see Peach in different styles of dresses and outfits, especially with a reference to Sherlock Holmes. Backtracking in this game is like restarting the level over and over which stings. I'm glad I did not get this game, especially with Peach's Time to Shine. No extra content like challenge mode, time trials with how many enemies you can defeat in a matter of minutes/per sequence or even a boss rush. I can see why this game is not worth coming to. Super Princess Peach vs Princess Peach Showtime. Nintendo in 2024 haven't done much with first party games.

I would love a peach game where its about her backstory witch would tell others why peach gets kidnapped and her magic and stuff. like the rpg and paper games with multiple storys in one but peach would be the main character with her backstory. As someone who is a HUGE fan of Princess Peach and has been since I was a kid, I really did enjoy Princess Peach: Showtime!, the gameplay was very uneck and quite different when compare to some of the previous Mario games, each of the stages are well rounded and fun, the graphic look fantastic and I really do like that this game flesh out Peach's character and makes her feel more like a bad-ass then some Damsel-In-Distress, although there are a few things that I am not a real fan of. 1) I found the bosses to be kind of odd.... I mean I'm not saying that they are bad, but most of them felt a bit to gimmicky and don't really feel like boss battles, I mean I do enjoy the third and fourth bosses, and the final boss fight agents Madam Grape is fantastic and is the best boss of the game, but they could have been so much more. 2) I do not like that this game makes you rescue the ten Sparkles in order to get to the final boss after beating the fifth stage, it reminds me of that Toad Hunt that they did in the previous game(Super Princess Peach) and I did not like it, I will say that it's handled better then in that game as all you have to do is play a stage, not go around previous areas just to find that Toad, but I wish they did not added that. 3) I found Princess Peach Showtime!'s difficulty to be... rather inconsistent, with some of the stages ranging from being well-balance and not to hard, while other times being UBER annoying and frustrating, I had to look up a guide to beat the one Detective Peach level. Overall, I really did like Princess Peach Showtime!, and cannot wait to see what Nintendo is gonna do with Princess Peach in her next game.

I definitely agree with you in most aspects of this. I played the demo but not the full game, but I did see a lot of footage about the game. There definitely could have been more story elements and character personality etc. I especially hate the backtracking and restarting the level as a completionist myself. Boss fights were mediocre and easy, and Peach is way too dry with her personality. She just opens her mouth in shock, smiles, and makes little noises like Mario. 6/10 because the game is still pretty fun casually.

I 100% agree. Reminds me too much of Nintendo Land on Wii U with a ton of easy and pointless mini games. A shame that this wasn't more like Mario Odyssey. Full price for this isn't worth it to me. Lol i feel like they should have made a backstory that the sour bunch were actually sweet grapes that used to live with the theets. I think the twist is that Stella and Grape were the daughters of the two noble families, hence their unique designs used to be best friends in their childhood, and were inseperable. Both had childhood dreams of performing in the theater of whatever name i forgot lol 😂... so they went to acting school together, and it caused a rift when Stella was chosen to have the lead role in their next productiom when they got into the theatre, as they found grape to be too "dramatic" and too invested in old shakesperian esque tragedy when the theets only wanted happy, delightful entertainment. She didnt mind as she assumed she would still be alongside Stella, but Stella let the lead role get to her, and only t9 continued to get more and more, and grape was pushed to the side roles each and every time. Stella let this get to her head and starting talkimg to grape less to focus more on her roles and her new fans. The sweet grapes were also pushed away too, as the theets found them to be clumsy and "horrible" actors, and endlessly ridiculed them. Growing hurt from Stella ignoring her, she finally decided to confront her friend on the issue, but Stella laufhed it off and said "you'll get your turn eventually, dont sweat it honey".and turned away from her...... Grape was only further angered by her friend's new attitude, and noticed how similarly the sweet grapes were being treated. She took them under her wing and they decided to protest against the corrupt theater. Engaging in a nonviolent protest, grape and her bunch refused to come to the rehersals. After the theater noticed, they showed up and demanded to be treated better and wished to have better parts in the show... but the theets only laughed at them and decided to ban them from the theater for "disobeying" the rules. Being rudely escorted out, Grape pleaded Stella to let them stay, but Stella simply smirked and didn't do anything. After that, the once sweet bunch of grapes went sour, and Grape vowed to make her grand debut as the leading lady to get her revenge on stella, and took on a path of sorcery and among the years she spent biding her time, she found similarly mistreated creatures: a bird fallen from its nest, a snake placed in a tank to small for him and was extremely underfed, a cat that was abandoned by his owners, and a lion who was blind, and unable to see anything in the world and was left to its terrors. She enchanted these poor creatures with her magic and they became her most powerful allies. And after many years, Stella had become the guardian of the theater, which Peach was invited to unbeknownst that grape and her bunch planned to make her debut. The cutscenes woild be largely different, in which Stella and Grape had more arguments, and Peach woils have dialogue as well, being her usual chatty, witty, self from the paper mario games, and strong resilant one from the mario rabbids. It woild be great to make the theter MUCHHHH bigger and have more transformations and maybe even more bosses, as well as the sparklas getting names and backstories, as well as Peach getting more dialogue ansd expression, even without her transformations, as well as grape and her bunch having more cutscenes with peach and grape becoming quite annoyed and jealous of her performances despite her acting inexperiences.. if theu did something like this... the encounter with her would he much more satisfying, and they could make the ending much more tragic, hopefully stella apologizing and feeling sorry, but it woild be too late as grape had passed.. idk? The story lacked completely, and honestly idk how i came up wirh this one.. sorry for the long comment.... you're amazing and this review honestly couldn't make me resist coming up with a story... im soo excited for ttyd honestly.... i need that game so bad

I enjoy honest reviews like this. I feel like a lot of times people are too afraid of criticizing Nintendo. The demographic is key here. I genuinely enjoyed going through this game with my 4 year old daughter. However, there is not a chance I would play this by myself. I also don't necessarily think it is a bad thing to make a game tailored toward kids.

I think its fine, but could've been better if it ever gets a sequel i hope it expands the concept of what this was. Agreed, Nintendo is fully capable to be more creative and put more effort. It’s a very dead inside feel kind of game for like 90 percent of it! There’s no personality in any of the characters and there is no story other than let’s go to this theater and something bad is happening we think? For no reason at all apparently. Also in comparison a 5 year old game like Yoshi’s crafted world which was created by some of the same team, has way more character and isn’t bland like this game and is just way more polished. There just lazy because there is so many switches in circulation that a bad game will still sell millions. Please Nintendo show more passion like you can and be more than just about the business.

I think the game is pretty fun in terms of story and simplicity. Sure it didn’t have the best of qualities from the programming of Nintendo’s philosophy, but in my opinion it was a pretty successful game made by Good-Feel and it does a good job to give us emphasis on what Peach does differently in terms of concepts than Mario. I’m sorry Abdallah, but I disagree your review on criticizing this game too harshly, it’s kinda like how you get less enjoyment when I was watching your Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn on Nintendo 3DS 100% walkthrough. Also the ending part of the video where you deleted the software data, that was kinda of an odd decision on your choice. Plz don’t hate me on this comment. Rating of the game, I give it a 7/10.

Honestly, that's the main problem I have with Mario games in general. There's no story. the characters are not interesting Due to the lack of a personality So I cannot attach myself to them The music is okay, But there isn't really any soundtrack that is memorable I don't hate Mario do like him especially the spin-off and non Canon games (not fan game) But I can't be the only one who is starting to think Nintendo is getting lazy or they are starting to fall off And I'm not asking for much when I say this part make a story it doesn't have to be good. Mario never had a personality to begin with but it just feels like Nintendo is making it worse and more lazy, especially this year they have released lazy ports, and lame games for 60$… I do agree with your opinion that the non canon (for me, it would be RPG) is truly better than the mainline games. I think the writing was really corny, and the concept of Peach performing in the plays that turn out to be real are comparable to Barney the dinosaur having the kids using their imagination and the things actually happening.

Whoa-ho-ho! I haven't seen this abrasive side of you before. Princess Peach Showtime didn't quite do it for you, hm? To be honest...I kinda see where you're coming from. Me personally, I'm not much of a Peach fan to begin with. It's nice to see Nintendo have her break from the damsel-in-distress trope, but otherwise I maintain a mild indifference to her. From what I've observed with Princess Peach Showtime, it looks to be geared specifically to younger female gamers. I imagine that this kind of video would get folks on Twitter absolutely livid. Indeed, I've seen a few aggressively defend this title for allowing Peach to truly "be herself" and not be just another "safe and boring" Mario game. One person in particular got attacked for being upset about the absence of Mario and Bowser. It's not pretty... I wouldn't say that I'm absolutely mad about Showtime, but have concluded that it's not my kind of game. Interesting video, AbdallahSmash. 🤔

I find your citric of this very mid butt still fun game to be overly harsh. The game does not deserve that much hate and negativity. Did Bowser have a back story? Did Wart? You can NOT compare a platformer to an RPG. If that was the case then Final Fantasy has to get a 10 or of 10 on YOUR scale better then Sonic, Mario or Mega Man combined. This game has issues but its not a 5. I would go 6, 6.5 on it. I can not go 7. the weakness were that you couldn't back track upon missing a star and it had forced auto scroll. The cooking was too hard to time the bonus stuff was too uninteresting the game still plays like "Itt was made for girls = we don't have to try" but it was creative and the bosses were a GREAT deal better then the boss fights in Mario Wonder. Peach has the SAME personality as Mario, Captain Toad, Mega Man, Samus, Simon Bellmont, Pit or any one else she doesn't talk and she moves to the right and jumps. it had more voice acting then Pokémon mid music bla costume rewards but hat it exists at all and did some thing different was nice. people have generally had fun with it it goes higher then her DS Game, a few steps under Captain Toad and more appealing hen Luigi or Wario's games. Generally a disappointment when I know Lego Batman 2 did better. if we could use the costumes in any replay level after unlocking them or in the hub world this would be an easy 7 . I can not rank this above any Lego Game. Captain Toad only edges out for better music and being longer but Peach has more p[owers and can now hold her own against Zelda in a proper fight.

Your review is good and familiar to me，but I thought funny about “it had more voice acting then Pokémon” lol，I thought Peach voicelines had same amount with the number of Pokemons which can fit in one game（I don't know，maybe 400？） Also，Peach in this game is almost Mario，aka “she can do anything” but actually the presentation from this game is “she CAN“T do anything WITHOUT Stella”, all her attacks and transformation are from Stella, without Stella, she can't even pass through the first vine prop in the first Swordfighter level In Luigi Mansion, we can at least talk Luigi is a coward but still willingly save Mario in crisis, but why we really need Peach for this game? (We can replace her with any character or even use OC character without any problem)

You seem to be one of the more competent commentors in this entire comments section and I'm glad you played enough to back your response. Peach had an opportunity to SHINE as an actor, the game's name is SHOWTIME, but she didn't even live up to that. Good Feel had a chance to break the mold and make her even BETTER than her Mario Bros Movie counterpart, but they literally don't know how to. Missed opportunity.

This video is the embodiment of my entire thoughts about this game. It's a shame. As much as I love that Peach finally has her own game since Super Princess Peach, Nintendo trying smt new and Peach's outfits, everything else about Showtime is just garbage. Sorry Nintendo. This game ain't it. If there's ever a sequel to this game, i would be happy to skip it. This game actually makes Sonic 06 look fun (I know I'm biased, but I rather play a game like Sonic 06 over this garbage game).

I was originally going to get this but then I became unsure after watching a preview now seeing this, and after reading somewhere that Peach's voice acter wasn't trying with her voice this time around. Yeah, I made the right call. This game is just as bad Yoshi Crafted World imo. Yoshi's Woolly World and Kirby's Epic yarn so far were the only good games made by good feel that I know of.

I played the demo and thought it was very meh, not terrible, but not great either, and it had potential to be something really good, but yeah, the controls were dumbed down, restricted movement, like if it had a double jump alone it would have been better...it was just very meh...simple controls alone aren't a bad thing, but NES and GameBoy games use the 2 buttons better.

You only have yourself to blame for not enjoying this game for the way YOU chose to play it. Absolutely no one was forcing you to 100% every level each try. That’s why the game saves previous progress from previous times you’ve done the level 🤷🏻‍♀️

Regardless, it's a cheap way to force people to play the levels more than once. There's no difference between stopping mid-level and restarting due to missing something vs playing through the level and starting over again. Heck, I'm out here saving time by restarting. So, what's your point? It's just bad game development - plain and simple. It has nothing to do with how I play the game.

@@RachelXKnight666 The game literally forces you to play each level again if you miss something AND forces you to play all the levels to find the hide-and-seek theets in post-game for 100%. One can simple do a casual run of a game if they want and that's okay too. For the sake of arguement, I've got to be a competent judge and say I've 100%'d the game before reviewing any of it.

But nothing was stopping you from just going back to the level and getting the one or two things that you missed instead of forcing yourself to do a run where you got everything 100% complete in the one run of a level. If you missed two gems you could have just gone back to the level and gotten the two gems that you missed
