Yes, yes, yes, I absolutely loved this one. Thanks again for sending it to me. I remember very little growing up in Jamaica in the 60’s Cornation market and out in Kingston with my parents. Thanks. From Montreal.

My Grandfather was born at 150 Princess street in 1915. He lived their with his mother (my Great Grandmother) and his brother which was born in 1918.Their house was the third house on the left, when you enter Princess street. They moved to Cuba in the mid 1920’s . Nice to see this video, where they lived, sitting on my couch in my house in Miami. Pretty Amazing that the structure is still standing today. Thanks for the video !

I don't know but " Kwacou" said " Don't destroy my memories" but to me I like this video just to see the real Jamaica and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. When I came to Jamaica 3 years ago I had to go downtown and walked on those roads including Princess Street and bought items for the fun of it just to get the feeling and refresh my memories of the days of old. These people just walk in thy road as if they are a traffic. Thanks for sharing.

Why every time I see a video of Jamaica it's always in the city or run down places? Jamaica is so diverse and there are many beautiful parts as well. Why don't you show those areas too? You give one point of view and people from America who don't travel think this is what Jamaica looks like. I'm from the country and it's beautiful up there with big beautiful houses, lush greenery, beaches, flowers, fruits growing on trees, streams and much more! I'm not a city girl so a tour of the city with its traffic and congestion does nothing for me. I would also like to see other areas and especially the country side.

I think you should explore other videos on this channel. Princess Street is only one of the many video uploaded here. We aim to show all communities of Jamaica some you may not like some you will. Thanks for your comment and one love

D Reid All cities in every Country all over the world are the same. No big deal we know that their are beautiful places in Ja. like every where else. Plus Princess street was a very popular place back in the day. It brings back memories for me. All the buses going to different parishes park and wait for the folks going to the Country.👏👏👏👏🖓✌✌✌✌✌❤❤❤❤

It is so easy to say government need to fix the place but if the government step out and decide that is going to give the place a facelift same people that is on the street would kill him they or going to say who buried there or who born there some Jamaican will not look forward to progress they keep looking backwards That's just the truth operation is the key everybody

Why the capital luk suh?
@JoyHarrison3 жыл бұрын
Mass migration from the rural areas has made Kingston overpopulated which helped to cause poverty. These areas have a lot of crime so they are neglected. A lot of businesses have left so there are many abandoned buildings.
@jasonparkinson76213 жыл бұрын
@@JoyHarrison - I don't think the problem is over population. I think the problem is poor governance. It's clear that the local municipality is doing a poor job by the apparent look of the place. Also, alot of the violent garrison communities were set up by politicians. Therefore, I think the problem is really politics and poor governance- and not over population.
@JoyHarrison3 жыл бұрын
@@jasonparkinson7621 Hi. Yes, the garrison politics created the violence in these communities. This is connected to what I said in my comment above about how the crimes led to the neglect of these area.
@jasonparkinson76213 жыл бұрын
@@JoyHarrison - We both agree that there's a problem-and it's crime. I hope our government, one day, will start fixing the cause and not the symptom.🔨🔧

@Junie JA Exactly, my point @ ur last line, it's apart of how we communicate when our ire is aroused, I'm not endorsing disrespect, but it's how we communicate as a people. Let's not have a pseudo belief of our propensity to react as a Jamaican. I'm laughing simply because Rory apparently took offence and reacted accordingly...
