Literally everytime I hear this song, the story behind it gets clearer and more interesting. Stabilize pt 1 isn't my favorite music style, pt 3 is catchy but not so deep, and this one just blows away the competition for me. Amazing story and amazing lyrics. Actually a big part of why I like this one so much more than part 3 is because part 3 doesn't make very much use of the conflict between Sweetie Bot's programming and her own will. This one complements the ideas behind the first one extremely well, showing that even years after she had to fight past her malicious programming, she's still confused and shocked that she's not what she thought she was. This struggle makes her a very interesting and very well developed character. Part 3 doesn't do that very well, though part 3 implies a returning of the malicious programming that has been at odds with her own will in part 1, so it's probably meant to be that way - part 3 has a strong theme of if: then: and other such programming language style things.

I disagree with the thoughts on part 3 - That one's my favorite because I imagine it entirely as an argument between the infiltrator personality and the combat personality. The fight aspect is just screaming to let it use force, whereas she isn't willing to call her old friends her enemies. It's completely her machine side saying "Look, if I did what they're doing, how could I not be your enemy?! Come on!" I do agree that part 2 is phenomenal though and I have trouble deciding which of those two I like more.

@@CordialH Taking another listen to part 3, you are right - I can't quite understand the story that's going on there, but I can tell there's something much deeper than I originally thought. However I still stand by what I said about this one being by far my favorite and in my opinion it's still by far the deepest. Even now, years later, the story just gets more interesting each time I listen to it (I listened to it 2 times today and each time I've gotten a little more out of the story). For example at 3:26 I always heard both parts of the lyrics as the internal struggle of Sweetie Bot as her self defense systems started up. But on my second listen today it clicked that the lyrics on the top are from the perspective of Applebloom and Scootaloo, and when I think of it that way it makes a LOT more sense.

Yo, this is my favorite song by you by far! Not only does it rock, but I love the narrative and it paints such an amazing picture. I like to think that Sweetie’s recurring statement “Take your best shot” speaks to 2 of her developments in this song. First being her existential dread of realizing she’s a robot and her uncertainty of if she is a real person, and if she’s not then she thinks she doesn’t matter as much and would be better off dead. Second is, if she does have any reason to live, it’s her friends that love her. And so if her friends don’t love her, she’s fine with them just ending her because she has nothing to go back to anyway. Such a cool image and dynamic you painted with this song, man 👍👍👍🔥👌

There's an implication at 'Lost like me', that the remaining Crusaders are not what they think they are. The Original Song, "Destabilize" implied Sweetie Bot was unaware she was a Robot, and this song further confirms it that she was unaware until the reveal, with the broken eye showing how She was revealed as an Android, as it's the most damaged part of her. That single line may imply that Sweetie Bot may not be the only Robot disguised as a Pony, and is unaware of It, especially with the "I Swear they Used to Glow" part. Of course, it could be that it's a POV switch to the ones who 'Put down' Sweetie Bot, but it wouldn't make sense since the lyrics state of being Lost in Data, unless of course, it shows that the ones who did are being Hypocrites, as in, they put down Sweetie Bot because she was already outed as a Robot... Even though they are kin to her. Frankly, I hope that isn't the case. I would prefer a happy ending, though since this is 'Part 2', it implies there may be another story with a related Song.

I swear I love a lot of your music but this specific song is the definition of a masterpiece🎼🎧🎶 there's so much story! the image and the music and lyrics that go with it. I love the first song and the third song, but there's so much raw emotion in this song which is insane!❤‍🔥 and to me personally my favorite lyrics Are the last part of the song. where to me, my interpretation of it, is she has sustained so heavy damage properly due to being shot by her friends, that she forgets what's going on and who she is and who they are. I really resonate with that part of the song because I have memory loss, I have sustained Brain Damage due to private affairs, but I have lost almost 15 years of memories due to circumstances so I really feel it every time I hear those lyrics and love this song for it❤‍🩹

Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of different bands. Some include Starset, Linkin Park, RED, Bad Wolves, Motionless In White, Crown The Empire, Famous Last Words, Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, I Prevail, Escape The Fate, Ice Nine Kills, Skillet, Our Last Night, Thousand Foot Krutch, Three Days Grace, My Darkest Days, Nine Lashes, and more. However, after listening to this song, I guess I need to put these bands on the backburner for the month! Seriously Prince, this song was great and I can’t wait for the rest of the album! Also if anyone listens to the bands I listed above, you have my respect
