I was a student of Christopher's father, Freddy Martin, in my high school years. I remember when Christopher was born. He'd get dressed up in a mini version of our marching band uniform and join us in the bandroom sometimes. He was our little mascot. I am thrilled to see that he's doing so well. Such a talented young man who comes from a musical family.

The best all-trumpet performance of this arrangement I've heard out of three or four. Of course it's to be expected when the soloist doubling as a quartet also is principal trumpeter for the NY Phil. One might well call this performance truly historic!
