How is it about stationary "linear" DC? Is it true that it doesn't stimulate (trigger action poentials) neurons at all?

poly-phasic would be where there were 2 or more signal lines plus an optional ground lead and each signal line would be producing a bi-phasic signal with a different start point the every day example of a poly-phase signal would be a 3 phase mains power source or 3 phase generator or alternator. poly-phase does not mean a continuous bi-phasic signal like you stumbled it defining it. USUALLY in poly-phasic system the phase angle difference between the bi-phasic signal lines signals is 360 degrees divided by the number of bi-phasic lines and 120 degrees for a 3 phase system or 180 degrees for a 2 phase system. The key point in a poly-phase system is there does not NEED to be a common ground and the current will flow between the individual phases and not normally flow to ground unless there is an imbalance in one of the phases load.

No it can be used for things in Physical Therapy like pain management, contraction of muscle (something the CNS functioning normally should do on its own) to keep it from degenerating or to try to keep it from getting worse, all kinds of things related to muscles and the nervous system.

No but it can be used with some tweaks ..but he mostly took the lecture to physiotherapy
