Following a bike accident in 2013 that left him tetraplegic, Vance Bergeron re-established his research to focus on a translational approach with the ultimate goal to go cycling again. He participated as an athlete in 2016 in the the first Cybathlon, sort of World Championship of Bionic Sports. He created the non-profit ANTS (Advanced Neuro-rehabilitation Therapies and Sport) to improve the autonomy of disabled people as well as their physical condition and well-being. Gathering regional and international experts, ANTS provide patients with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and organize recreational therapies.
Filmed at TEDxClermont, Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne, France, 20/10/2018.

UNLEASHING . . . a little correction / adjustment: . . . it is not technology which is helping people (as it is not arms killing people) . . . still it are always people helping people . . . maybe in some distant future AI will do so . . .

You made some outstanding observations for those who are paralyzed- I can tell that this is going places. -We should feel sorry for disabled people- We should help them and create more of this sort of technology and innovation.

Thank U for bringing this to public in this format as this technology has been used by Occupational Therapist & Physical Therapist in the USA for decades. Problem: health Care in USA very curupt . 3rd party reimbursement will rarely pay to fully benefit patient.
