@@Browzzrr I am a bit unsure where to start - with Micron or 2.4 I like the Micron because of optics & mods & tiny - But to be more rational i might go with 2.4 (first).... argh :)

@@jimwhite4482 if you have never built a printer before, the trident is the easiest! if you really want the flying gantry, the 2.4 is also excellent, just a bit more challenging

@@Browzzrr I assembled an Anet A8 approx 7 Years ago and modded with alu profile case due to the lack of stock stiffnes etc. It is still working btw. I am familiar with raspberry pi, arduino, electronic and tinkering things. 2 Months ago i bought the Creality K1 and now i want to get back in. I guess it is only a matter of time that i own more then just one Voron. I am just struggeling where to start with ; for now i want them all :)

Thanks for the awesome video man! I am just about to start the conversion on my 250 Trident and cant wait to see what it can do :) Also, I can wait to see how you go with the Micron180+! I bought the Formbot kit and its seriously my favorite printer so far! Its the perfect size for me and I reckon it could be modified to do some pretty crazy speeds :) Keep up the fantastic work!

I had been considering a mod like this, and the results are amazing... But I don't think it's worth the extra noise for me. Hopefully I can find another cooling solution that does the job but isn't as noisy. I keep thinking about the dragonburner, but it's ugly and apparently doesn't support Tap.
@Browzzrr9 ай бұрын
Yeah the noise is a hefty trade-off. I am chasing performance, so it is what it is, thanks for stopping by!
@kazolar9 ай бұрын
you don't run CPAP at 100% -- like ever, my PLA configs have 40-60%, it's far less noisy. Also using an analog control board, you get a lot more accurate control of the CPAP air than doing the fake PWM signal from the pi.
@Browzzrr9 ай бұрын
@@kazolar I run my cpap at 45% for regular printing, but it ramps up for overhangs. so it hits 90% a non 0 amount of time I also run it off of the octopus and not the RPI, not sure how an endstop pin varies. even at 45%, with the muffler, its louder than a combination of 5015's, so noise is still very much a factor for people who want a quiet machine.
@perfectscotty6 ай бұрын
Awesome video.
@printsomething50934 ай бұрын
Thanks for the sounds comparison, you have made up my mind to not go cpap. The results aren't good enough for me to justify the noise, but this is for me, i don't want a loud printer.

Tried to print the front plate and hose connector and noticed the holes were modeled to be 2.5mm for a 3mm screw. I noticed someone remixed the 2 pieces as they were also having issues, going to attempt to print that next but something to keep an eye out if anyone tries to print this

@Browzzrr8 ай бұрын
Mammoth is three times the size. Plus most of the noise comes from the air coming out at the hotend. A bigger muffler wouldn't do anything.
