this pcrb is a self diagnostic test. this is to help you understand more if you still remember some med lab science topics. and for you to gauge if you are ready to challenge the csmsls exam. you have to answer it based on your own knowledge and experiences. then submit it as part of pla requirements.

PLA is really important to get know your eligibility. im not from csmls but i am sharing information based on my experiences. you will know the result once you completed and process your PLA. there is no deny or approve in this assessment... this is basically CSMLS reviewing your credentials and gives you back a report to let you know if you are eligible to write the exam or if you need to take course or if you have to finish a certain school program.

there is no form you will just ask the institution to provide a written proof that english is the mode of teaching. I am not sure with other institutions but this is what I did. I just asked my school to provide me a written proof that states that english is the mode of teaching used at our school.

if you have experience but don't have educational background it will still have to go through PLA because its part of the requirements to submit. your work experience can show you have mlt background. CSMLS will tell you if you have to take courses or if you can write the exam right away

Ate bagong graduate po akong medtech mag boboard exam palang po, ask ko lang po kung pupwede ko na kunin ang PLA. Student visa po kasi ako at mag aaral muna ng psw for 1 year at trabaho ng another 1 year sa canada as a psw for the Residency. i think they might require you to take some courses or go back to school. it can be the bridging program which one year only or it could also be the whole MLT program that will be 2-3 years depending on the institution of the province you are going to study.

you would still have to undergo PLA but i advice na acquire an immigration status or student visa para makapagaral dito sa canada.. Most likely dahil newly grad ka sa pinas, csmls might still require you to take courses here in Canada. or if they think you can write the exam right away mas better. Pero to write the exam you have to be physically here.. try to find ways on how to immigrate here first then saka mo na asikasuhin how to work here kapag andito ka na marami pong opportunities sa medtech as in madami pong job sa buong Canada.

The Technical Report will tell you if you need to take course or if you can write the exam as soon as you get the report. But if your education and work background does not qualify, it should still be stated on your Technical Report

if your institution doesn't have the option to send it directly to csmls you can send it on your own, as long as you have the authenticated documents. Meaning it has the institution seal / name / logo in the heading of each docs and on the sealed envelope and was released to you by the institution.

depends sa province kung saan ka magwork some provinces will hire you as long as you have medical laboratory work experience from the country you came from. but some provinces doesnt recognize our education and work experiences - they will still require you to challenge the lab assistant licensure exam and be certified before you can work for them. I arrived in winnipeg (2015) and when i applied for lab assistant jobs i immediately got a job in the lab. They considered my work experience as MLT in the Philippines. but in other provinces like ontario or BC, i think the mla certification is a requirement before you can work as MLA

it can be done in the philippines but remember that once your technical report comes out they will only give you 2 years to finish your learning plan make sure you will land in canada before the deadline of your technical report

you can try the online self assessment test in the CSMLS website and see if you wanna continue this career. It was designed to help Internationally educated MLT like us decide if Med Lab is a career path for us based on our scores / knowledge on this exam. But at the end of the day it is still up to you to decide if you want to work as MLT here in Canada or not. If you want to be MLT here then you have to do the whole PLA process then follow the next steps the csmls will give you on your technical report.

if you have MLT experience in India you can contact the regulatory body in Canada for MLT example: if you are in Ontario, your regulatory body is CMLTO you will be eligible for MLA exam because you have MLT background already but not yet licensed in Canada. so reach out to the regulatory body about the requirements and how you can write for the exam. some provinces will hire you even without passing the MLA license as long as you have strong laboratory background but again it still depends on the province where you are.. the first step you need to do is reach out to the regulatory body in your province ☺️
